Mobile phones are an essential part of our lives today and it seems impossible to think about a life without them. Life seems easier with them in our hands; we communicate, access information, learn, take pictures, pay bills, buy things and do a whole lot with them.

The existence of mobile phones dates back and it has continued to evolve into the smartphones we have today. Long before the modern Smartphone revolution (the Androids and iPhones), there were cell phone companies that pioneered the early revolution by introducing the world to mobile phones.

It's Throwback Thursday, Let's remind ourselves of some of the brands that rang bell in the 2000s

1.Motorola: : The Brand, Motorola started the mobile phone era. Being the company that launched the first mobile phone in 1973, Its bestselling Motorola RAZR V3 was launched in 2003, one mobile phone that can be considered a style statement first and a communication device.

2.Sony Ericsson : Sony Ericsson was a force to reckon with in the days for its good camera and spectacular audio quality. The brand introduced its first real handheld mobile phone in1987, the HOTLINE pocket.

3.Siemens: This brand was a renowned brand of mobile phones in the 2000s with a wide range of stylish and sophisticated phones with its Siemens S10 as the world’s first mobile phone with a colour display.

4. LG: LG was an emerging mobile phone brand in the 2000s offering stylish and innovative phones, the LG chocolate was one of its popular classic for its unique features.

5. HTC: stands out as the manufacturer that launched the first commercially available smartphone to run android

6.Blackberry: This brand was iconic in the 2000s for its unique features; a physical keyboard, email on the go, and secure messaging. It had a reputation of handsets that defined the business class, launched on 19 Jan 1999 with the release of the Blackberry 850.

7.Nokia: The history of mobile phones can never be complete without Nokia, Nokia is arguably one of the most iconic mobile phone brands of all time with quite a number of classics. The Finnish phone manufacturer has lots of iconic devices to its credit, with its super durable and popular Nokia 3310.
