Multichoice is set to increase the prices of its DStv and GOtv packages effective from March 1, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement to its customers on Monday.

The statement titled, “Price adjustments for DStv and GOtv packages,” read, “Dear Customer, please note that effective 1 March 2025, there will be a price adjustment on all DStv packages.

“This is to enable us to continue to offer our customers world-class homegrown and international content, delivered through the best technology.”

This is coming almost one year after its last price review.

According to the company, its latest price review will hike the DStv Compact bouquet from N15,700 to N19,000, the Compact Plus to N30,000, and the subscription to N44,500.

Similarly, GOtv customers, who currently pay N3,600, will now pay N3,900, while the tariff on GOtv Plus will rise from N4,850 to N5,800.

The GoTV max package will now cost N8,500 while the Supa will cost N11,400 and the Supa Plus, N16,800.

MultiChoice, the parent company for DStv and GOtv, claimed the price increase is due to the increasing cost of running a business in Nigeria.

It points to currency depreciation, with the naira’s value dropping significantly and high inflation ballooning its operation expenses.

Some people will still come here and be blaming Mumtichoice instead for them to face the governments who are constantly making things hard for businesses.

If you don't know, Multichoice is not a profitable company yet, declaring huge losses evey year

Advice for dstv, consider pay per view for football fans, maybe you won't lose all your customers... My gotv subscription is expiring in 3 days.AEDC moved me from Band C to Band A without any notifications now I'm getting 20 units for 5k. I'm just living to pay bills.

Do people still watch DSTV? I stream football on my device and enjoy my Netflix jeje without those boring channels of Thiers plus YouTube is now making more sense than before. Wonderful content is coming out of various channel in there. Dunno why people still behave like old school by subscribing to these homophobic south Africans

Nigeria is definitely a lab where Nigerians are used as guinea pigs and lab rats to test for corruption and other forms of abnormalities.

That explains why anything goes in this cesspit.
And the youths....those ones are clueless!

Great100000:

This is a lie. The last time they hiked it and now, naira has actually appreciated and inflation has reduced though slightly.

They think by hiking it again, they'll make more revenue? This is not always true as hiking could cause low demand which could result in reduced revenue.

They also fail to realise that Nigerians have devised other means of watching EPL and the likes, and are also having access to more entertaining channels that are not in DSTV package, while paying less fee and cost.

Everyone will be alright at the end.

They claimed the same reason when exchange rate was almost 2k\$. Exchange rate is below that now but they still went ahead to increase it. The Nigerian govt will in the next few days tell them to revert to old prices but they won't listen, they will even threaten them but they won't still listen, then the matter will suddenly die, till the next increment angry
