9:30 AM, secondary school girls walking relaxed like they're strolling, gisting, pausing on the way, no sense of urgency.

They're very late but still not showing signs of hurrying up. Not once, not twice, almost every day.

I mean why going to school so late?

Yes, it's prevalent amongst public schools, government schools. But even private schools have ed in this madness.

Parents are not helping matters at all. You'll see a parent taking their children to school by 9 am, almost everyday.

17-20 years ago you can't try this sheet in government schools not to talk about private schools.

So just wondering, has the time for school changed?

Clearly, children aren't being raised with discipline anymore. I finished secondary school over 20 years ago and I know what it was like during our time. Even the gateman was allowed to flog students for being late...

A lot of values have eroded and I notice a lot of kids don't really respect elders anymore. The parents are majorly the ones to blame, and coincidentally, they are the same millennials that were taught with discipline but refused to it to their kids.

Nothing new here. I did this and it was way back than 20 years ago. Parents do their best to raise good kids but it won't be like enough if a truant is bent to emerge

I have this habit of shouting and scolding students catwalking to school after 8am. That's my little quota to the society.

No, you’re wrong, The Parents birthing these children were not disciplined and instilled with morals.

The Parents birthing these abominable children are Armed Robbers, Prostitutes, Yahoo Boys, Kidnappers, Cultists, Ritualists, Baby Mamas & all the Societal Deplorables.

You cannot give what you don’t have naa.

And it’s going to get worse. Just Imagine each Nigerian State saturated with 5 million children of “Portable - The Musician”. ?

Somebody that is beating Government Officials and harassing people ing in front of his Bar at Sango Ota?

Pray tell, what discipline & morals can he instill into his children?

Since the end of all the struggle has not been worth it. They see their big bro graduates jobless and Yahoo Yahoo and prostituting has become the new permitted key. The parents are like why beat my child... For what?, The student are like why read for flying colours / go to school early...for what? Righteousness exalt a nation, sin is a reproach to a people.

You can't relate to this if you attend or teach in a boarding school.

You totally missed the point. When you mention armed robbers, prostitutes, everyone knows they are from a damaged section of society, so that's a no brainer.

My focus is on the parents, mostly millennials, who believe their parents were too harsh while growing up, so they want to change the narrative and be 'nice parents', in the process, they spoil kids beyond repair.

Look at the UNIZIK girl who bit her lecturer, is her mother an armed robber or prostitute? No, she is a lecturer that one would expect to instill morals in other people's children, but see how the daughter turned out.

The greatest issue here is actually not the current leadership in these schools.
The current teachers and school s were raised with these high moral values.
The greatest issue right now is what happens when these generation who are growing up with zero respect for morals grow up and begin to take leadership positions in government and private sectors....

Nigeria is not going to get better sir.
Parents who attended schools where teachers mount gates with horse wipes to ensure we are disciplined are taking their children to school by 9am without any form of consequences for the child to learn from.
What happens when that child grows up with that mindset.

The future is totally dark for the coming generations, unfortunately. Make I do reach 90 years make I die dey go before this new generations go kill me

I'm telling you nowadays the students are the ones that are the teachers and teachers students. Walking out of class, staring at girl's backside, discussing movies, even following themselves home it's well.

The use of flogging and copral punishment has been stopped or reduced in this present age, hence the decline in discipline. I the old days. If 8am meet me for house, Omo!!... I don turn free labourer for school be that or flogging has an appointment with me that day.

when u have a useless father like uche7779 that can beat a teacher for correcting u then u have to leave their children to do whatever they want

Uche7779 sued school teacher for correcting the bas**rds he call kid

Now think about it, if u were a teacher in that school even when u see them having sex in the school then u have to look away to avoid being sued or beaten

imagine a parent like uche7779 lock teacher for police custody cos the teacher beat his kid

Imagine if u were to b a teacher will u talk even if d child dey smoke Igbo

N since the teacher has been locked up for beating the kid, psychologically the stupid parent has sent a message to the child that nobody can touch him even if he's wrong

With useless parents like uche7779 , 10 years old children will openly smoke weed n do drugs in front of their parents in d future

bro during my sec school days in d early 2000( 2001- 2007).

If 7:30 nack n u never enter school, na big time labour work till 9am, teachers are free to beat us n even parents don't go to school to complain

I am happy I was beaten then cos it shaped me to know that there are consequences for my actions n I anytime my papa come check us for open day e dey always cast me n my brother's for school say we stubborn say make teachers beat us very well

He will send gifts to out teachers self, but today uche7779 n other useless parents are locking teachers up in police station n beating teachers right in school for beating their kids

My children must b beaten ooo, n I go even pay teachers more make them discipline them. Beating no dey kill, even the Bible spanking the child

Nobody wants their kids to be disciplined in School as we were...

Most schools might even sack a staff for beating a kid ,so they look the other way when Students err and do whatever they like.

Society,PARENTS and Social media should be blamed .

Devil, were you not against parents disciplining and flogging children? As you atheists were saying let the children be what they want to be, whether whorres, fvckers or homos?

You too are complaining about falling morals? grin
People listened to you people and now you all are complaining. grin

All of you must harvest and eat all your evil seeds. grin

One of my neighbors daughter, the child will have to hawk market every morning before heading to school 9am or 10am. Imagine that,

And also, not to fault the parents most of that public schools are not discipline enough.

What do you want the school to do when parents come to school to fight teachers for disciplining their children. Even to pick dirt around the school as punishment you will the parent coming to school to fight. Omo now na all man for yourself, teachers now teach alone, removing morals.

Teachers can't scold them coz they are deliciously banging young bannies almost 4 free.

Teenagers get attracted to older dudes.

If U think I'm lying, apply to teach in a school. And in a month, u go receive hook up offers frm these bannies

The male students knows about the teachers sexcapades with the the females and knows teachers cant scold them coz of information they have.

If u see any1 scoldings these scumbags, its a female teacher or a male with a clean slate

My neighbor has 5 daughters. Baba if u see yansh. I dey avoid to look atyms and not even their teacher oo. These mofos greet me in d dark sexily, yes flirtily. ed me and still look back.

I go still nack 2 outtta d 5. 3 never ripe.
