BigDickProblems:

Firstly, ensure to select the appropriate battery type on the controller (just read the manual and change the settings by pressing and holding). With the right settings, if this is as good as the MIV PWM controller, you will get the same results.

Secondly, since you are using a 2400wh battery, you need at least 8 pieces of that 300Watts connected in parallel-for effective charging (if possible you make it 10 since you don’t get enough sunlight duration according to your explanation). And please get a new controller especially if your current one is below 120Amps.

PS: Please I am not a solar professional, a lot of people here are more knowledgable and can provide better solution, so I stand to be corrected.

Good luck

No.

A 200aH battery wouldn't even take more than, like, 500-600w at a time. Plus you'd need a 150A+ charge controller to even utilize 2400w on a 12v setup.

Like someone already said, he just needs to add an extra 300w or two and use a better charge controller and everything will be fine. Preferably an 80A MPPT.

Battery is currently getting undercharged by solar.

Connect all the s in series

The 6mm cable is ok for the series connection as the current of the s will remain constant.

Hello guys please I need advise.

I have a 5kwhr/5kva LiPO4 system(Inverter/charge controller/Battery) in a unit.

I purchased 6 units of 650w Sunter Bifacial s. I posted the specs of the and my inverter system. Please what connection is best factoring in the specs of the system.

I already purchased a 6mm2 DC cable and AC/DC breaker. I want to also know if that cable size is sufficient as the recommended charge current for the system is 50A, max 100A.

I intend running a refrigerator and one 1.5HP AC

NB

But that won't produce enough current to charge the battery properly. the recommended charge current in the datasheet is 50A. One produces a max current of 13.4A.

The MPPT charge controller will convert the excess voltage to current which is one of the advantages of MPPT charge controllers.

From the spec sheet you attached, the input current of the charge controller is about 11A so series connection is your best bet.

Good morning wonderful people.

I stumbled on this thread and its been educative even though i no understand most of the big thrown around lol grin

So i have a small problem or should I say dilema.

My setup:
Battery: Tubular 200Ah, 12V (new) -- Brand is Kartel
Inverter: 1500W, 12V (Sukam Falcon, Pure sine wave)
Solar s: 2 × 300W (600W total).

I dont know much about the charge controller but I will attach a picture to help guide whomever is answering.

Load:
Fan - 125 W
TV - 60 W
Laptop - 39W
5 LED bulb lights

I used the battery from Friday evening to Sunday early morning cos our light wasn't good (low voltage). Throughout Saturday from morning till about 5pm i was using TV and the fan whilst charging via solar. At night i used the fan alone till morning.

The battery was low (11.0v) and started charging again via solar around 8am. I plugged a phone and the fan before unplugging everything around 12pm. By 3.30 pm I plugged the fan and lights before unplugging at 5pm. I powered it on by 7pm and within 15 minutes I got a battery low notification to reduce load at 14%. TV and fan plugged. The voltage had dropped from 11.9 to 11.5v too.

I had to switch off the TV and maintained a 003% load to use 11.3v till the morning. On Monday when I got home around 6.30pm I found that it's just 12v on the controller and sure enough, after plugging the TV, it started screaming after 30 minutes.

Now my question is: is there something wrong with the setup?

I got the setup last December and I'm sure of the battery's performance with PHCN for at least 16 hours with average load. Also, my compound borders a storey building that casts a shadwo around 3.30pm so I'm sure that also counts.

Someone suggested i got an mppt controller. Help me guys. I'm fine with normal battery charge but i feel I'm not getting the best out of my solar setup.

Attached is the controller

In addition to other advise, I want to ask about that fan taking 125w or so. If it is one single fan, pls change the fan to lower consuming ones like 20 - 60w. Add 2 more s, change CC to MPPT where you may connect s all in series or 2S2P depending on CC volt limit and you are good to go.

50A there isn't input current, though. It's recommended charge current of the battery. Ergo 0.5c. Half of the 100aH capacity. They're effectively just telling you to limit charging current to 50A for battery longevity. Has nothing to do with current from PVs.

I experienced the same thing in the Tokunbo s i bought after two years and one got burnt out. After that i had to change the entire s to tier 1 s.

what might caused this are;

1. when you do not use MC4 connectors but rather cut the wires and do the connection thereby creating more resistance for the flow of current.

2. directly placing the s on the roof without allowing for air flow underneath the s.

3. using wrong gauges of dc wiring.

I will advice you to replace that with a new one

My installer did no 1....I hope I won't have same issue? How will I know the s are okay up there and no burns?

Good morning guys, please I would like to seek advice from you guys.i am not very enlighten about setting up a solar system hence my coming here for enlightenment.I want to set up a solar system on my betshop and I have a very limited budget.

The intended electronics to be powered in my betshop are,9 monitors(no c.p.u),1 laptop,2 ceiling fans(one of them is an acdc inverter fan),1 standing fan,7 led light bulbs,3 32 inches tv,3 Playstation video game and a thermal printer.

Please, how many kva system does the above equipment need.

What are the various components I need to make it work and their prices.

links of credible online vendors(not the ones that would run away with my money or sell me a bad product) that I can get each of the component at affordable prices.

I'm asking for your help cos I have a very lean budget of 1-1.2million.I tried approaching some solar installers in my vicinity but they seem to inflate the prices of most what is needed.I want to get everything needed myself then call a solar specialist to come fix them up.That's the only way I can afford this.

If a locally produce lithium battery can come into the mix for my budget range,I would appreciate it,If not I'm still ok with it.

Also my shop opens at 8am and closes 10pm business

Please your suggestions would be highly appreciated.

There are several fake mc connectors and dc fuse/breakers. That being said, there are better guaranteed ways of twisting wires after which one now make use of connectors with screws for maximum firmness. Then Wrap tightly with insulation tape. One person's error shouldn't be generalized though. However, If you have access to all shapes of original connectors, no qualms.

Hi guys. So attached is the specification of the hybrid inverter I intend to install. I have 3 solar s of 350w each. The battery is a 2.56kwh lifepo4 battery.

Considering the inverter's specification, how best(parallel or series) should I install the solar to maximize the sun's power? Also, I'm not mounting the s on the roof. I'm mounting it beside the building. It's a 2 storey building, and I live on the down floor.

Thanks for ur suggestions.

I was shocked when I found out, unfortunately I learnt the hard way. We can't blame felicity for this, it's our sticker rebranding brothers. The real recent casing can be found at www.felicitysolar.com. Don't let them fool you with 'it's the old casing '.

Some tips for those buying 10kwh felicity battery. The original has 10KWh written on the sticker on the wooden crate, the fake reads 10KWH, the difference is the capitalised H. Though it might change soon when their spies here update them.

Pic 1: original felicity 10Kwh as seen on their website.

Pic 2: 7.2kwh currently flooding the market, which the seller I quoted has been selling here as 10kwh.

Assuming it's the regular 350w s, their voltage range is usually between 30v to 40v. You will need to parallel all 3 s, though there is a chance you might exceed the maximum power input of your hybrid inverter, I'm seeing 800w there Your 3 s might do 850w to 900w if very efficient.

Always use a BMS for charging. You don't have to use a BMS for discharge. In many cases it is redundant, it can even limit your battery performance.
Had to backtrack. I don shayo.
Point stands if you won't need/want to by battery in peak sun hours.
If you want load by in peak sunlight (non-hybrid charge controllers will require connecting both battery and inverter leads via a bus bar to the controller battery terminals), then you better use a common Battery BMS port for charge/discharge rated accordingly, usually 100A up.
