Governor Alex Otti has declared an end to the era of bad roads in Abia, assuring citizens that his istration is committed to delivering world-class road infrastructure across the state.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the reconstruction and dualisation of the 5.5-kilometre Owerrinta-Umuikaa Road, the Governor reiterated that every road within Abia, whether federal or state-owned, is a priority for his government.

“We came prepared to change the ugly experiences of road s entering Abia. Never again will bad roads define the entry points into our state,” he said.

The Governor also highlighted his istration’s strategy of pre-arranging funds for projects before commencement, ensuring zero indebtedness to contractors.

Governor Otti assured the people that the completed road would improve connectivity, reduce travel delays, and enhance economic activities, particularly for traders and those traveling to the Sam Mbakwe Airport.

The only performing governor in Nigeria today I know. Good people always face stiff opposition.
I'm glad he didn't give up, until he became governor. His predecessor was only sharing kerosene around town. Our politicians are so wicked . I when fashola and ambode were this active too. When you do good, you'd be ed for it.

Ekiti governor needs to be jailed after his tenure. Ekiti has the worst road network in nigeria today. All his excuses are...those roads are federal roads. Where was this incompetent man when fayose fixed same federal roads, putting the Ekiti people first? The state got refunded eventually by the FG. Maybe he too is gathering money to build a private university in Ghana like his predecessor had done, with the state's funds at the end of his tenure.

Sadly, this man complaining that the bad roads are federal roads belongs to the same ruling party, the APC yet, he can't influence anything, except fake publicity.

Instead of working, he keeps talking, two years almost spent with no world class road in Abia but he keeps blabbing about world class roads. By this time next year, election will overwhelm everything and we still won't see any world class road in Abia.

The governments across the East must collaborate with their various house of assembly to make laws to sanitize religious practices. The recent shenanigans must be tactically stopped.

1. Before you are approved to work as a junior pastor in any church, you must have a masters degree from a reputable theological institution with other stringent requirements including clean character, you can't just go and interpret what you don't know in the name of "calling this and calling that".
2. Before you are approved to work as a senior pastor in any church, you must have a PhD from a reputable theological institution with several years of experience and other stringent requirements.
3. Before you are approved to open a church or prayer ministry or any religious organization, you must have a PhD from a reputable theological institution with several years of experience, mentorship from a respected church owner, clean character and other stringent requirements.

4. Before you are approved to work as an assistant native doctor in any shrine, you must have a masters degree from a reputable witchcraft/traditional institution with other stringent requirements including clean character, you can't just go and do whatever you like and get away with it.
5. Before you are approved to work as a senior native doctor in any shrine, you must have a PhD from a reputable witchcraft/traditional institution with several years of experience and other stringent requirements.
6. Before you are approved to open a shrine or any traditional religious organization, you must have a PhD from a reputable witchcraft/traditional institution with several years of experience, mentorship from a respected shrine owner, clean character and other stringent requirements.

7. Before you are approved to work as an imam or Muslim cleric in any mosque you must have a masters degree from a reputable muslim theological institution with other stringent requirements including clean character, you can't just go and interpret what you don't know in the name of calling this, calling that.
8. Before you are approved to work as a senior imam/clearic in any mosque, you must have a PhD from a reputable islamic theological institution with several years of experience and other stringent requirements.
9. Before you are approved to open a mosque or any Islamic prayer ministry or any islamic religious organization, you must have a PhD from a reputable Islamic theological institution with several years of experience, mentorship from a respected mosque owner, clean character and other stringent requirements.

Existing religious institutions and preachers should be given one year to meet these requirements or close down.

Even foreign guest preachers invited to preach or foreigners who want to open any religious organization must meet these requirements with more scrutiny.

This will not in anyway infringe on anyone's right to worship. It will not work against the existing constitutional rights to association or worship rather it will strengthen it.

If there are requirements to become a banker, lawyer, doctor and all that,  they should be requirements to become a cleric.

They actions of the clerics, priests and pastors have direct impacts on men, women, youths, families and the society at large and thus should not be left for anything that goes, as it is right now.

Note: I'm a born again Christian but what we have witnessed in recent years calls for check and balances in these religious  institutions.
