Just look at Beal and Booker in that sequence! How do you expect to win with 2 defensive liabilities in your front court.

Luka?

So lebron gonna play with Luka now undecided undecided undecided
Roland17(m): 6:45am On Feb 02
I am hearing the Mavs were the ones that even offered him to the Lakers. Luka’s poor conditioning, something I have been harping about for a long while now has come to bite him because it was central to why the Mavs moved on from him. With another Supermax in the horizon, the Mavs were not going to make the same mistake the Sixers made with Embiid.

This is like the lottery company calling and asking if you want to win the lottery.

Unbelievable stuff from the Mavs. All they got was AD and a first rounder

Haba Luka is not even remotely close to Embiid. Younger and has taken them further.

This is a puzzling trade. Especially when you are getting glass man AD who is turning 32.

The puzzling part for me is what the Mavs are getting in return and not the trade itself. Something had to give. He may not be Embiid but he has had recurring injuries and issues with his weight and conditioning.

The fact that the Mavs shopped him, were willing to let him go for almost nothing tells me they were done with him. I mean how do you explain that M. Bridges hauled 1st round picks and Luka was worth just 1?

Make dem investigate that Mavs GM.

He must either be the world's biggest dumbass or he sold the Lakers a bill of goods

Quitting on a soon to be 26 year old seems bizarre. Unless they're on to something sinister and know something about Luka long term that we don't

On the flipside AD has been bitchin for a hot minute about playing at the #4. Now he s a team with 2 legit centers. I'm interested to see how that pans out

So Mavs will look like

Kyrie
Klay
PJ
AD
Gafford

Looks pretty formidable if everyone is healthy

Omo. Luka is no scrub bro.
He has done more for his franchise than any other superstar not named Lebron, steph, giannis or Jokic. If you are not getting giannis or jokic in exchange for him, any other deal is bad business.
No one can do for the mavs what luka has done and definitely not Davis. This is a step back....

The AD-Luka trade is no joke? Thought it was. What was Mark Cuban thinking?
etidy: 7:50am On Feb 02
shocked shocked what! The mav's could have gotten 6 first round picks for luka shocked. This is so suspect.

The Lakers didn't even have to waste so much pick and their future is set for the next decade.
Luka + Lakers will bring sure free agents.

Can Klay be trusted? That's the question. This trade makes no sense to me at all. They already better. They made the finals with their current squad. All they needed was a back up guard who could play defense. Then in the heat of the moment, you remove either Kyrie or Luka.

I like this trade, but If the Lakers don't add a legit big man that can anchor the defense, then this season is over. This is a trade for the future, whether or not LeBron is a part of it.

But by and large, LA would be LA, and we'll always be able to attract the biggest superstars. Never forget that.

Someone should check the bank s of the Mavs GM as well as every member of his family. Infact check the s and phones of everybody in his village.

Another thing to note is the Jazz got Hood-Schifino and a couple of 2nd round picks in this trade. They can't be receiving all that if they're not giving something out. My guess is we'll hear the Kessler to Lakers news in a couple of hours to days. The Lakers still have a 1st to make this work. And a guard or wing might be coming with him. Sexton?? grin

I saw this news video on my feed and I thought clickbait.
Then the next video and then the 3rd video.

Trading Luka is one madness. Getting what they got in return is another madness.

Let us see if it will work out for the Mavs in the short term. They have maybe 1-2 year window max. At least AD will stop whining about not wanting to play the 5 now.

I actually dont like Luka, for the fact that he will always underperform. I think Mavs could have gotten more, but Luka is mostly hype imo. If you wont discipline yourself to play, all that talent is a waste of time.

This feels like a post Lebron Laker move, a superstar for the future. I felt like Lakers should be going big, not small

No one is denying any of the above but there is something to be said that a championship winning franchise like the Mavs decided to offer the face of their franchise for nothing.

His super max is coming this summer and something isn’t sitting well with the Mavs regarding his health and conditioning. This situation reminds me of Kawhi’s trade, only difference is that the Spurs got a truckload and Kawhi demanded the trade but they moved on from a player with a degenerative knee.

I guess I am just trying to make sense of why they traded him for nothing, in such haste and not because he got traded.

I have said it here severally that while I ire his talent, I think he is lazy, lacks discipline, whines way too much and doesn’t play off the ball.

On the flip side though, I don’t think this makes big the Lakers better defensively. They would be parading 2 starters who are slow, can’t move well laterally and poor defensively. If they don’t secure a good center it would be worse.
