This is smart . Enugu can manufacture and ship to Abuja and the north and take care of the eastern market while using onitsha and Aba to reach out to niger delta market. Am thinking enugu has the same advantage of strategic location as Aba. Enugu should leave national grid and use coal to generate power for its industries and sell to national grid

Tabithatim: Talking is easy, but investors need more than just sweet promises. For multinationals to actually come, Enugu must focus on real human capital development, tackle insecurity, and put an end to kidnapping. No serious business will invest where safety is a gamble. A good business environment means stable policies, reliable infrastructure, and government beyond just words. If Governor Mbah backs his promises with real action, Enugu could truly become a hotspot for investment. 8 Likes |

kettykin: Nobody will invest in coal mining in this age and time. Countries are being encouraged to shut down their coal plants to save our planet. In fact, many crude oil companies are divesting in gas because it's a clean energy source. Any politician who tells you that he will use coal to generate power is either uninformed or mischievous. The world is moving to clean energy. 6 Likes |

SmartPolician: There many countries generating power from coal today. The only issue is that they will have very low carbon rating. Additionally, gas has been discovered in parts of Enugu and the government can tap into the gas turbines. 10 Likes |

The plan was to exterminate them during the civil war , They initiated the idea of 20 pounds pay off no matter how much you have in the bank, look at Igbos today and compare with the desolated and the northern killing fields? Or the south west that’s being gradually conquered by the Fulanis, this story called Nigeria is full of suprises

kettykin: Nobody is still investing in using coal to generate power anymore because it's fossil fuel and mining coal is very dangerous. Countries that still generate power through coal do that because they had those plants before agreements were reached for them to shut them down. Many EU countries are complying. No company goes about looking for new coal deposits to harness because of its environmental impact and risks. 1 Like |

SmartPolician: Really, Please where's your source of information. China and India are still building mega coal plants. https://www.greenpeace.org/eastasia/press/8605/china-approved-10-34-gw-of-new-coal-in-the-first-half-of-2024-a-79-5year-on-year-decrease-greenpeace/ 10.34 gw is more than all the capacity Nigeria can ever muster including generators and solar and other rendering. Enugu should just go ahead and build their coal power r plants China approved 10.34 GW of new coal in the first half of 2024, a -79.5%year-on-year decrease: Greenpeace 4 Likes 2 Shares |
