This government is very wicked, imagine I traveled on 31st December as band B customer with power purchase of 13.4 units @1,000, and returning back by January as band A with power purchase of 4 units @1,000. How do they want us to survive this? The worst part is that the power supply is even worst now than when we are in their band B.

I agree with Ajero on this, this is purely 419 from the government.

You are even on prepaid and you are shouting. Is it it to off your appliances when going out ?

You give light to Band A, and throw others into unbearable darkness. This is pure wickedness.

Electricity was not this bad under Buhari, it's a shame that Nigerians are suffering this much under Tinubu.

Pls where did you base? Because light now is much better than before
tobolos(m): 10:39am On Jan 24
Sir, there are so many fraud going on in the power sector.Tinubu need to change the heads here. Ironically, despite the huge money government have been giving them, the power supply is getting worse.

Are you aware that the minimum token you can buy on Band A is now #5,000? At a point we were told that money paid the prepaid meter would be refunded in form of unit but we were shortchanged.
These people already know that their time is fast ticking away and they are all bent to cash out before the thing cast.

igala1:
In as much as I'm not speaking for Tinubu's istration, it's the easiest thing to walk up to the DISCOs to know how conditions for the migration. Obviously, areas that have up-to 80% prepaid meters would be migrated to band A. Areas with 60% prepaid meter would likely me migrated to band B.

Some people should be in jail over this Band nonsense criminality. What's so difficult in distributing prepaid meters to your customers free and deducting previous debts bit by bit till everything is cleared ? Bunch of bloody thieves

That's false. Electricity supply is far far better now

How is electricity supply far better? When power generation has never exceeded 6000MW?

It's high time we drop this APC/PDP/ Labour party mentality.

Bro, I'm facing same situation. I.used to get like 65 units for 5k on Band B. Returned this year, recharged 5k, stuff didn't even last up to 7 days.

Then I checked and realized that they moved us to Band A. Now 5k gives 21 units.

They say Band A is 20 hrs minimum. Ironically, I enjoyed relatively stable light on Band B. These days you can't even get 12hrs on the Band A.

It's disheartening.

Ajaero is clever by half. Ass licking kinda guy & he thinks he can get there by activism. He was a former Gen. Sec of National Union of Electricity Employees and doesn't talk like one who understands the Electricity sector as we have with its many challenges.

I have been saying this. This is fraud and discrimination. We need to sue this government amd the power ministry for this nonsense. Because of your inefficiency and inability to generate electricity, you create class or bands so that people will feel it's their fault. What's the meaning of band A or band B? Give us light and give a flat rate for power. Nonsense

Yes now. The more I use, the more I pay even for the flat rate. Imagine IBEDC band A getting 26 units for 8k while band B gets the same 26 units for 2k!

₦1k on band A gives you 4.4units, unless you're stealing light (bying) or you have just a bulb in the whole of your building, then you're a bloody liar or an ignorant fellow who doesn't even know what he's talking about.

Enough of time wasting.

4.4 units for 1k was for last time they made official announcement about tariff increment. It has been silently reduced to 3.3 units for all the IBEDC band A customers.
And again, you can't recharge 1k or 2k anymore with IBEDC, it starts from 5k now and it will give you just 15.65 units if you are not even owing them a debt on your meter/ number.
And there could be band A customers with no prepaid meter too, your monthly bill na just 60k, not much.

Owe debt? Lol. You are either ignorant or full of yourself.
It is a new house with PURCHASED prepaid meter and which they're still giving me N1000 worth of energy monthly as repayment for the 90k I paid for the meter.
If I paid 5k right now, I will get my 15.65units plus 1k for Nov, 1k for Dec and 1k for Jan because the last time I recharged was Oct. If something is not clear to you, ask but don't assume.

Don't mind that one, what does he know. May be he's on band B or worse, band C.
Band B with IBEDC is still 13.5 for 1k. Imagine 5k recharge giving you like 66 units, that would be enough for some households per month.

If the tailor had no light before, then the tailor must have been using generator, even if its I my neighbor, which is still more expensive!

You are the shallow one here! I made a simple statement on electricity supply....how you have equated that to partisan politics beats me!

TCN recently activated a 75MVA Transformer at the transmission station near my house in Lekki and the light has been more of less 24 hours since late December. Since Dec 20, not sure light has gone more than 5 hours combined.
