POLICE ARREST 2 MORE SUSPECTS CONNECTED TO MRS ODUMOSU’S KIDNAP.

As Operatives Recover N2.25m, 2 Locally Fabricated Rifles, 11 Live Cartridges.

In response to the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., to go after the fleeing suspects in connection to the kidnap of the wife of Retired Assistant-Inspector General, AIG Hakeem Odumosu, Mrs Odumosu, the operatives of the Lagos State Special Squad have apprehended 2 suspects identified as Agbojule Smart ‘m’, 27 years and Keleke Michael ‘m’, 30 years.

The suspects were arrested in the early hours of today, Friday the 24th of January 2025 while on their way out of Lagos State. Upon interrogation, they confessed to their crime; belonging to a gang of 4, 2 of whom have been neutralized previously. Recovered from the suspects upon their arrest were the sum of Two Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N2,250,000), which was part of the requested ransom, 2 locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.

The IGP commends the police operatives for their gallantry in apprehending these suspects and encourages them to maintain this high standard of competence in the fight against crime in all its manifestations. The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its commitment to public safety and the security of the good citizens of Nigeria. The Force remains steadfast in its commitment to reducing crime to an absolute minimum and fostering the establishment of peace across the nation.

The dangerous aspect of this violent crime is that the culprits will soon be released into the same society.

Great job...!

But, I'm quite dissatisfied.

Look at that amount of cash... How are banks still authorising such shocking cash withdrawals even in the face of rising insecurity?

Even businesses and commercial deals hardly insist on cash payments.

Even during cash scarcity, kidnappers still manage to get paid in cash... Some even receive wire transfers that no one tracks or follows up with.

I honestly believe most Nigerian sectors encourage crimes and criminality in this nation.

Not encouraging crime.. These ones are Local criminals... Dem no dey ever smart..

Change those funds into hard currency or crypto.

Avoid travelling by road out of the country, use the waterways.

Wait, how much was the ransom again?
Naaaaaaaaah.. Not worth the stress...!

Just be a good boy and avoid all this drama!

You don't get Sir.

I am not against the victims getting the demands of the vile kidnappers.

I'm saying that they can make such demands because the Nigerian System permits and tolerates such.

You can't just walk into a bank in serious nations and withdraw such cash without serious scrutiny and paper trails...

Do you know kidnappers even collect bank transfers, and stroll into banks to make withdrawals without stress or fear of arrests?!!

If the system had such serious scrutiny and monitoring with strict restrictions, a lot of these kidnappings would have diminished.

Criminals thrive under the indulgence of an immoral society.

Nigeria is an Immoral society.

Look at that amount of cash... How are banks still authorising such shocking cash withdrawals even in the face of rising insecurity?

Even businesses and commercial deals hardly insist on cash payments. It may be daily withdraw in many days or withdrawal from POS , or an arrange cash collections from market traders who sell mostly in cash , and mind you Bankers also are complicit and bend rules towards some customers

Even during cash scarcity, kidnappers still manage to get paid in cash... Some even receive wire transfers that no one tracks or follows up with.
