Personally I think they should scrap NYSC already sef. The scheme has outlived its usefulness ; it adds little or no value to the graduates, instead it is just an avenue for government and private owned businesses to access cheap labor.

There are some government schools where they don't have permanent teachers for some subjects, they use corpers posted to such communities as teachers. Why can't the respective state governments and local governments employ full time teachers to do that?

The scheme also exposes the corpers to risk of getting kidnapped , being involved in an accident or even a boat mishap for those serving in riverine communities that are not accessible by road.

The primary objective of using the NYSC scheme to foster unity in the country is not even working; they should just scrap already

But those transporters would have carried engers today, and the kidnappers would still kidnap.

It is even before that we know some selected areas as prone to kidnappings. Now, it is everywhere; East, West, North and South.

The insecurity level is just so alarming . I watched a video of some kidnapped victims this afternoon that were rescued by the police . They were kidnapped close to the Benin by and had been beaten blue black by the kidnappers .

They were just lucky the t task force of police and vigilante in Edo state came through for them

They were just lucky cos the police and vigilante saw their foot track and the path through which they dragged them into the forest . The kidnappers were caught unawares by the police and had to escape with gunshot wounds . Prior to that the kidnappers had already been calling their family to request for ransoms .

In the comment section I saw people blaming the victims and asking why they chose to through Benin by in the night . They claimed there’s an alternative route they should’ve followed which is safer .

All are mounted at very terrible spots on the road, thereby causing serious traffic during the day.
