Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu

A new year means new milestones for Lagos!

Six new train sets are on their way to Lagos to strengthen the capacity of our Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue and Red Lines. This step will transform commuting and further drive economic growth across our state.

These train sets, having successfully ed factory acceptance tests, are scheduled for shipment. Once they arrive, they will increase trips on the Blue Line and prepare us for the extension to Okokomaiko upon the completion of phase two.

Phase two of the Blue Line, a 14-kilometre stretch from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko will connect even more communities, bringing our vision of seamless mobility closer to reality.

Since its launch in September 2023, the Blue Line has transformed commuting in Lagos with 72 daily trips along the Marina to Mile 2 corridor. With the new trains, we will increase capacity, ensuring an even faster and more efficient service for all Lagosians.

This expansion underscores our commitment to building a Greater Lagos that works for everyone. The future of transportation is here, and Lagos is ready to lead the way.

This is Lagos, and we deliver.

Jubril A. Gawat @Mr_JAGs

FLASH: Six additional train sets will be in Lagos very soon to strengthen the capacity of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue and Red Lines to deliver value to commuters and thereby increase the economic viability of the state.

The six trains sets, which have scaled the factory acceptance test hurdle, are scheduled for shipment to Lagos from China.

The addition of the train sets to the Blue Line rolling stock will increase the number of train trips along the corridor and will be deployed for enger operation to Okokomaiko when phase two of the Blue Line is completed.
It is projected that the construction of phase two from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, about 14 kilometres in length, will be completed within the first quarter of 2027 and enger operations extended to Okokomaiko shortly after.

The governor had visited Beijing and Dalian in February 2024 and while on the trip he placed orders for these trains for the second phase of the Blue Line and also for the Red Line.

Good moves , but I think they should bring their prices down small. I heard that most of the trains travel on empty coaches due to high prices especially during the day.
At least there should be some ways or balances to reduce the price both off peak and on peak to generate more funds for LAG.

Try to confirm your claims by yourself. People trop in because of price, affordability, safety, convenience and time factor compared to Danfo and molue.

And some werey wanted to impose one Chinedu on the state by force. If sensible people hadn’t stood their ground and insist on SanwoOlu, that’s how the state would have gone to the dogs.

Congratulations to Governor Sanwoolu and his team.
