After the initial t of the LG/SG had a semblance of FG funding and a counterpart funding from the SG. No one knows if that SG counterpart funding ever came since for many States it was the SG that did virtually every thing. So now that the LG have been given financial autonomy the SG can release funds to all the LCDAs. In some other States it's called RDAs(Rural Development Areas).

That's an istrative thing to do. LCDAs are still under LG so it is easy to sort out financial issues. Also, scrapping it will only create istrative issues in Lagos state most especially with the way LCDAs are made to be closer to the people.
