There's obviously no intention of the organizers to cause death or manslaughter as it is alleged. The state government should rather channel its energy towards compensation of the affected families by the event organizers and making laws that will prevent a recurrence of what happened.
The laws can mandate event organizers to make certain arrangements and involve stipulated government agencies before any public gatherings should take place.

The law should decide. That is the purpose of going to court.

We have been having stampede in Nigeria for years and sending these 3 people to jail won't stop it because the root problem hasn't been addressed- CROWD CONTROL


So long as the governor doesn't interfere with justice, I seriously doubt the court would convict them of any criminal charge because they broke no law.


I doubt there's any crowd control law in Oyo state to begin with.

What we want from Govt is proactive measures against stampede in public gatherings and laws on crowd control.

Govt should make laws to ensure prevent further future occurrence.

Anyone who wants to hold such public charity event should get permission from necessary govt agencies, paramilitary services like civil defence must be involved to help with crowd control, appropriate barricades must be set up around the premises of the events to prevent stampede.
The organisers must the clear right from the onset the number of people they are expecting and prepare adequately for these numbers.
Public discipline and patience must be enforced in large gathering by ensuring people are in a queue no matter how long, aggressive or disruptive of public that could be a source of catalyst for chaos are removed on time and arrested if necessary.

Now when these laws are in place and someone else organise an event leading to stampede, the govt then has the legal backing to arrest and prosecute the organisers for criminal negligence.

That's how it works in saner clime. because without law, there's no sin.

Those people that were killed in Oke Ogun during his second term campaign by his political machineries does not deserve justice abi? He should be on trial himself. A pot calling kettle black.
