Oh well, Nigeria or anywhere else, people rarely sell their cars because they are sick of it and want to get something new, used cars market is where you need a good and trusted mechanic, luck and prayers.
Some sellers will sincerely tell you what the problem is, many others will make God their witness stressing the car is perfect even when it is far from that.
Foreign used? A used car is a used car, cars start to wear the second they're driven off the lot, and like I said, these foreign used cars often have their own issues, we just tend to want to believe it is the jealous neighbour or wicked step mum that has looked at the car with evil eyes lol, or some unskilled mechanic did something.
Many foreign used car sellers have a long list of body work pros, mechanics and rewires 😂 they'll put together or patch up anything to look nice, engine, trans, seats or even dash, etc, I have seen this, that Nigerian used car seller should probably be trusted more than the popular foreign used car dealer.
If you have eyes for details, some of these things can be caught just by looking at, frame of car, nuts on engine and trans, slightly different colours of bumper to body, etc, most of these foreign used cars are accidented☹️, someone bought a Toyota Corolla 2017 accidented, a year after bought Toyota highlander 07 ( also accidented lol) that one even overheated the same weak and was lucky engine didnt go, the week after it was AC compressor, then condenser 😂 and then the battery, the car has the timing chain noise on start up already.
Consider other brands, not so old cars, and maybe start looking at cars bought brand new in Nigeria.

A dealer at a stand would sell it more expensive because most times he's buying from the importers. He doesn't import.

And the importers too wouldn't mind exploiting you so they too can make abnormal profit.

That's why I said it's all about your bargaining power. Find out the price from the dealers on the stand before going there. They way they'll know that you're aware of what you want to buy.

I think you should buy something of a higher model. Even spider is still a bit better. Camry are very strong cars starting from the years Toyota started making them.

If you still insist on 2004, Camry. My advise is buy the Camry that has good body, legs and internal features in top shape and bad engine. I have bought a Nigerian used car before with Tokunbo body and internal, even the inside was still smelling Tokunbo......but the car has bad engine. I negotiated lower to accomodate the replacement of the engine which I did immediately I bought the car.....atimes, it's better you buy your own engine, a real Tokunbo engine that you are sure about

First, @OP, What do.you expect to get when.youre looking for a perfect 2004/05 camry with 4.5m. Do you and your mechanic even have any knowledge about that particular car were out for at all? All.camry i4 from 2003 to 2009 engines have factory default issue so it's usually/extremely difficult.to get a good one with good engine unless it's less than 6 months used and well maintained by the owner.

I sold a 2005 model 2 weeks ago, I bought it from.the family of the owner (deseased) 5.5m and sold ot 6.2m did settlement 200k, if you see this car you'll beg. The owner just bought not, ed it and died 2 weeks after.

Do you know that tokunbo is sold for 8.5/9m? And you expect to get a good car for 4.5m

Most of you people don't have money yet you want a good car. Should car dealers gift uou people their cars or go steal a car and sell.to you at a give away? The answer is no.

Go through all my pages, take your time.to inspect my.cars, if upon inspection you find out any issue I didn't state to you on the course of our.discussion, I usually give money to buyers to fix the problem because these are used cars so.dont expect 💯 condition besides these are machines, issues can arise anytime.

In a nutshell, you want a good car, be ready to break your bank for it, even the so-called tokunbo usually comes with issues. Whatever the case is, business is business if it's okay with you, buy, otherwise, take a walk. No one will.out a gun in your face forcing.you to buy.

Which EOD. What does it guzzle? Money or Fuel? Most people hate honda cars until you own one. I have a EOD, I bought nigerian used 6 months ago for 2.2m. I changed the engine and since then. I've put over 5k miles on the guy and it's doing pretty fine. The only expenses is just my own youthful desire. Like buying screen, buying some fancy light and all those funny stuffs. I'm still 23 lol. Lemme enjoy my youth. 😆 🤣 😂
