lailo: Bat condemned the removal of subsidy in 2012 and said the price of fuel at even N97 was too high. Now that he has removed the same subsidy and fuel hovers around the N1000 mark, has he apologised to the Nigerians he misled to insult GEJ who was doing the right thing? In 2014, bat said the exchange rate at N217:$1 was too high and a sign of the government's incompetence. Today, the exchange rate is N1600:$1. Is that courage or incompetence? Even in the build up to the 2023 presidential elections, bat still promised to reduce the price of fuel which was around N197 and also the exchange to N300:$1. Given the present situation, has he given Nigerians reasons for the volte face? Some one blatantly lied to you, denied you the opportunity of having something good when it really mattered, but you call him courageous? Has the courage translated to improved purchasing power and better living conditions? What sacrifices has bat made to show that he is very much in tune with the hardship his policies have caused? 4 Likes 1 Share |

How on earth is someone wrecking multidimensional havoc in our country in the name of reforms and the opposition politicians are not voicing out strongly? Of course TPain has bribed some of them. This is the time Jonathan himself is supposed to criticize TPain strongly but he seems to be off. He is obviously not a fighter

Sheuns:You think its as easy to deal with the cabals like u will did to the poor masses? when u have money and influence to some level u become outlaw and it gonna take only a wise and crazy fellow to deal with u tactically. What Tinubu is doing is fighting this people. if not why are the nothern elders crying out loud because of his policies. from the LG autonomy to tax reform bill nd relocating some CBN division to Lagos etc... just that when two elephants are fighting the grass suffer it the most. To me Tinubu is the only president that has the interest of the poor in mind. if he is that selfish as u people claim walahi he will do as u people want just to gain ur for next election but Jagaban didn't care about if he loss or won next election he only want to set things right. now many of his critics are seeing the good side of him. it a matter of time that we all will him 1 Like |

It is widely believed that corruption, harsh economic policies and arrogance towards the plight of the people are the key reasons that led to the ruling party’s loss. As long as a large group of people in key parts of the country are benefitting from this present istration, they will push a good number of the electorates to continue to deliver the votes. |

Yesterday, I read a story about Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and how he was overthrown. When it happened, people in the streets of Accra were celebrating. But Nkrumah, watching from the side, didn’t understand. He asked, “Why are they so happy? Shouldn’t they be sad?” His close friend, who had traveled with him on many journeys, gave him an answer that shocked him. “Mr. President, your people were expecting milk, but you were busy building factories. Emmanuel Kotoka will provide them milk.” Nkrumah was surprised and replied, “Is that all they wanted?”… Nkrumah, deeply troubled, said, “I thought we were building a future together. If I knew they wanted milk, I would have planted milk taps in their homes.” His friend looked at him, realizing that Nkrumah had misunderstood what the people needed the most… This conversation showed the deep gap between Nkrumah’s grand vision and the reality of what the people wanted. Nkrumah was working on a long-term plan to build a strong Ghana, but the people were just trying to survive today. They needed food and basic things, not dreams of factories in the future…. It’s almost funny to think that Nkrumah, who was focused on big projects, missed the immediate needs of his people. While he was planning for the future, the people were thinking about what they could eat now. Sometimes, the most basic needs are the hardest to see when you’re focused on grand ideas… The people of Ghana didn’t want grand plans; they just wanted to live comfortably today. They needed food, and they needed milk. Do you think that all leaders have to listen to their people and understand what they need in the present, not just focus on building for the future?… Nkrumah’s story teaches us about the importance of balancing big dreams with the current needs of the people. He wanted a better future for Ghana, but the people were hungry today. If only he had taken time to understand their daily struggles, maybe his vision would have been more successful… As a leader, it’s important to care about both. The people need to see that their leader is working for their present and future. If a leader focuses too much on the future, they might lose touch with the reality of the people’s daily lives. This can cause frustration and even lead to failure…. Nkrumah’s experience makes me wonder: Should leaders focus more on the basic needs of their people first? Or is it okay for them to take risks and focus on a long-term vision? After all, the people might not understand the bigger picture until their basic needs are met… Nkrumah had the right idea for the future, but his failure was in not addressing the present. The people weren’t looking for factories and industries—they were looking for food. It’s a lesson for all leaders: to build a strong nation, you must first ensure your people have what they need to survive. Sometimes leaders get too caught up in their visions and forget to care for the basic needs of their people. But the reality is that if the people are hungry today, they can’t wait for a dream to come true in the future. Leaders must find a way to balance both, and fast. What do you think? Should leaders focus on the immediate needs of their people, or do they have the right to work on grander projects, even if it makes some people unhappy? Let me know your thoughts. It's a tricky question, and every leader faces this challenge. How do you think Nkrumah could have handled this better? Leaders must strike a balance between the two. Basic needs must take priority. Leaders are elected based on the manifesto they campaigned on. Manifesto must have phrases of immediate priorities & long-term priorities. |

wizelink:Jonathan was the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria same as Tinubu today. Same policy but one chicken out like coward and priotized reelection over necessity. Jonathan also had choice to stick to his guns just like Tinubu but he chickened out. Should i, or Tinubu or other Nigerians who protested be blamed for his cowardice? Or u people don't have brain ni? Abeg shift ![]() |

trium: Imagine. People now want to twist the narrative. Bat either knowingly deceived people or was ignorant as at 2014. Either way, he owes Nigerians an apology or needs to come clean. It is funny when some people say he is courageous. Courageous for lying, deceiving and being a cunning hypocrite. 1 Like 1 Share |

APC threatened the government, called for NASS and NLC to keep fighting. People abused Jonathan and called him evil.
