To Nigeria?
Good or bad "thing"?

I've read that Nigerian meat have deeper flavour.
Probably due to they're mostly naturally grazed.

Yes and I hope they keep tge nama that way.

Wagyu Cheeseburger
I didn't realize importing South African Meat was a thing.
And for the first time noticed the gameyness of Nigerian Meat.
This burger was dope.

Which restaurant is this ?

Hope you had a great time and holidays!

Pepper soup early in the morning ? You tried cheesy
Give me English tea, orange marmalade on wheat bread and fried eggs in the morning.

You can bring that my way in the noon- make it extra hot abanero Pepper soup cooked with goat 🐐 grin

To think about it, it might not have been the best choice at that time.
But to my credit I did order it when I got in at 5/6 am and before I went to bed, so probably wasn't making the wisest decisions at that point.
But oddly enough I it being really really delicious.

Yes and I hope they keep tge nama that way.

I even hope we go back to eating mostly natural/pastured chickens.

Nowadays, Nigerian chickens are becoming too big for comfort, and eggs are becoming more tasteless.
When I tasted guinea fowl, there was a whole lot of difference in of taste and texture compared to chicken.
Guinea fowl had deeper flavour, and was more satisfying.

Yeah, earlier the trip a friend of a friend had a bbq where he imported all the beef from South Africa.
Juiciest, softest steak I've had there.
Kind of ruined the trip (beef wise) for me as I could now taste the difference in the steak I ate.
So, yeah the South African meat tasted better to me.

Yeah, I think it's the conditions they are grazed in. The steak has a deeper flavour, or more gamey flavor as I was told and tasted.

So, there may be different takes on it.
I wasn't fond of the gameyness.
In fact couldn't finish a steak at a nice place I went (will not name) as it tasted too gamey.

This is the first time I've noticed it or it was noticeable to me.
I wonder if it's a change in where the majority of meat is coming or that I just paid attention because I was eating more meat.

Nigerian meat is the best for me except goat meat. One has to learn how to season the meat properly else, na tasteless meat be that.
(I gave up on fried egg a long time ago. So taste less. One day, I asked myself why I hate sardine all of a sudden, cos none taste like titus brand)
I prefer the goat meat I buy here as that sharp taste is very minimal.

I can never make a pot of stew or soup with the beef here. I only buy beef for Asian cooking. But other parts of cow meat except the beef is good.

Though, if you shop at african shop, you will get chicken like our local fowl. Very hard old layers.

I added some ginger powder to warm up the drink. Couldn't get ginger at the local store yesterday. Hopefully, I will add that in the future. I got the bottles when I got the juicer. I think Amazon suggested it then and it is useful.

I plan to add some green vegetables but not sure if it will still be able to last 3 days in the fridge with them. Might do lemon instead.

Seems they soak their beef in a sort of chemical to get rid of the beefy taste. Same for fish and shrimps, exceptyoubuy at african stores. Chicken is too soft, milk tastes like water, eggs are tasteless. Butter is tasteless. Bread has no sugar in It. The matter is somehow.

The way some of you speak in such absolutes.. as if you are omnipresent and ominiknowest... by the time the westerners are telling you that they don't like the strong 'fishy' taste of fish, or you see the way they gag when they perceive the smell of fish from your bag if you are just coming in at the airport... or the way the fish or beef you buy at the supermarkets are not only tasteless, but so watery and have a slight chlorine taste.. or the fact that most of the beef sold in supermarkets are 28 days cured. if its not the same where you are or where u shop, just say so and , don't come and write that there is no truth to my comment as if I stand to gain anything by lying on nairaland.

Go and sit down. I said what I said. If you can't Deal with it, that's your problem. A little research would cure u of your ignorance but no, u are here forming nairaland overlord. Simple thing that almost every Nigerian knows, or why do u think we buy our meat, shrimp and fish from the African or halal stores?
