You have Marc Guiu still understudying Jackson and they still want ur team to sign Delap instead of g an already established striker. Na wa for una fans o.

Chelsea are looking for goals but Marc Guiu has only played once in epl thanks to bald head pochettino.

Ibime 's world best striker because of muscle.

12 goals in 17 games in Serie A this season playing as a winger. A free transfer with only £150k weekly wage. You opened your dirty mouth to say you preferred your weak £250k per week pvssy boy Felix for £100m over him, Felix that has never scored more than 8 league goals in a top league. You should be konked on the head for that generational stupidity

swiz123:

Update me on Thuram instead. I have been searching for him on Inter's first 11.

swiz123:

Felix came to the Euros on the back of a poor Barcelona season. Why is a Seria A winner Thuram treated like an Osu in this Euros?

Just enlighten me.

Prolific strikers dey scarce these days. They will soon eliminate the position from football as the talent pool dey dwindle.

I think English clubs need to go to South American leagues to get confirm strikers; they still have them over there.

As for Europe, the whole false 9/ball playing striker is gradually killing off the role of top 9 sef

Exactly. No matter the dearth of strikers in football, you would still find a handful of them in Argentina.

Baba, it was the era of Messi and Neymar that made those two nations to overlook potential No.9s for their respective teams.

We all know how Messi dominated the national team for over 15 years and counting; obviously it will be difficult for any traditional No.9 to break into the national team within that period. Same with Neymar who was the official poster boy for Brazil up till maybe last two seasons.

This does not mean there are no prolific strikers currently playing in their leagues, it just mean those guys would not get a chance while super stars like Messi and Neymar who can play across all roles upfront are still around.

I'm sure we will see a flurry of new talents taking up the striker role once the curtain draws close on their respective careers

They are all average CFs
The Gimenez,Raul, Nunez, Jesus etc all average
Football have evolved you hardly get 30 goals CFs in South America or North America
Even Europe and Africa produce better CFs than them

I am telling you that there is a dearth of quality strikers. People that were alternating Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus at one time because option no dey.

And how will Neymar who is a winger block a striker from emerging? Neymar, Messi are the ones that will even allow strikers shine.

Striker wey Ronaldinho no block na Neymar go come block am? Abi Maradona no elevate strikers?
Even Messi was playing with Aguero from age group and Higuain was also there at the senior level.

Strikers no dey again. If any of those Tier 2 strikers of the 90s and early 2000s should be around now na 150-200m dem go wan buy them, not to talk of the Tier 1 strikers.

In school I beat one stronghead JSS1 boy from an interior village. The guy kept coming back crying and shouting YOU GO KILL ME TODAY. So I continued beating him, and he kept coming back shouting YOU GO KILL ME TODAY till he started hyperventilating and breathing loudly sounding like someone about to die of thirst. So I beat him to the nearest tap and forced him to drink water, make he no die for my hand. And still he kept coming and coming till my niggas had to save me by holding him down. Na me wey dey beat am still had to leave the dorm quickly while my niggas held him in dorm. Na me still find am the next day to apologise and make peace because he was clearly a mad man.

The function of strikers have gone from scoring to Linkup and even pressing the defence

We had people here defending Firmino because he could press

The striker position is going extinct even the so called strikers legendary teams like Brazil, Argentina, , Spain, Italy , parade these days will make you ashamed

even the top clubs.
Arsenal - Harvetz
Liverpool - Nunez
Madrid - false 9 winger turn into striker
Barcelona - 36yr old Lewy
Milan - Morata
Man Utd - Hojlund
Atletico - Sorloth
Inter - Thuram

These are players from 80's to early 2000's na. That's over 20 years na.

I'm sure if we go back from early 2000 to 2024 we will get enough strikers to list like this across different leagues.

Nobody wan gree say football don dip. If you talk they will say you're nostalgia merchant.

Make Dominic Solanke and Darwin Nunez be top 9 for team

Spain has gone from Raul, Villa to Morata

Italy from Baggio, Vieri, Inzaghi to Belloxxi

from Muller, Voller, Klinsmann, Bierhoff, Klose to Fullkrug

Something is definitely wrong somewhere and my game watching time has reduced for a couple of seasons now

Tell me what will be the need of a box number 9 if opponents are pressing his defenders and midfielders like agege bread. Football has changed and traditional strikers are becoming (if not already) obsolete.

No, those players were at their peak in the 90s to early 2000s like i mentioned. About 12-15 years max.

Look at this way.

Netherlands had van Basten and Bergkamp at the same time. When van Basten left they had Bergkamp and Kluivert. When Bergkamp left they had Kluivert and van Nistelrooy. Kluivert left and it became RVN, RVP, Huntelaar. Now it is Depay and Weghorst.

Brazil had Romario and Bebeto, then Bebeto and R9, then R9 and Adriano. Now it is Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison. cheesy

We can do the same for , Italy etc.

Yep, strikers are going extinct. Believe it or not; without off the ball movement and pressing, a player of Jackson's ability should never be starting at a top club like Chelsea. A Westham bench option shouldn't be anywhere near the national team but we have Fulkrug as top 9 for . We have Retegui who's not a nail on starter for Atalanta but same dude is the starting striker for Italy

Guess who's the starting striker for almighty Brazil? Football is now too robotic walahi

🚨 Napoli have shown interest in Chelsea defender Renato Veiga as an option for the January window on loan.

There are more clubs interest… but still unclear whether Chelsea can let him go playing more or not.

Maresca see Veiga as an important player.

It is simply because all those teams have moved from the traditional 4-4-2 of the 90's to the various modifications of formations we have now.

When u have teams focusing more on defence and midfield football; everyone wants to play total footbal, surely much care is not given to the striker's department. U see people playing 3CB's , 2 WB's and chocking midfield; it is only normal for other teams to respond and match them like for like. Nobody wants to park strikers that will not get a chance to have a shot at goal because the opponent choke midfield and their backline.
