Someone that wrecked GDP from 300bn dollars to 190 bn dollars in one year ?

Someone that wrecked GDP per Capita form $2500 to $877 in just one year ?

Some that caused egg prices to jump from 2500 to 7000 Naira in one year ?

You say he knows how to assemble the best minds ? You are not ok 😅

Well for those wondering why the Naira gained here is the reason:

1 Diasporan have started arriving in droves for the Christmas festivities and they are all looking for Naira to spend so they are changing dollars .

2 : Diasporans that are not coming for Xmas have also started sending dollars to their loved ones so they can shop for Christmas early.

This is what is responsible for the Naira gain and not any Tinubu

You didn't read the report to the end, you should good back and complete the reading

I can confirm this. Dollar fell a lot in the black market too.

Edit: No celebrate too much or praise Tinubu. My BDC guys explained that it's seasonal, as diaspora people are returning for the holidays, they are selling their FX in exchange for Naira, which is temporarily propping up naira value.
By end of February 2025, we shall know if it's the season or the new instrument introduced by the CBN that is responsible for the Naira gains.

Respect to Jagaban, he knows how to assemble the best brains, as Governor and now as President. Anywhere that's difficult to enter, just leave it for Tinubu, that's where he likes to dismantle into pieces.

After God, na Tinubu 💪 God bless Nigeria.

We're thankful but we're still a long way from celebrating. Let's hope for <=1000 by May 2025

This is good news

Bit it seems CBN is flooding the market with dollars or where's the excess dollars coming in from? It was previously claimed that we need to become productive for our currency to appreciate

The value of the naira has been heavily decimated since APC came into power we hope the are able to work out a genuine respite for our currency

Perhaps people from outing the country coming in for Xmas

Even when Dangote refinery came on board, naira did not appreciate. Give credit where it is due, the new digital platform Cardoso created has turned things around. Stop downplaying every positive news, it's a sign of sickness.

This is festive season and as such the demand is low, it is too early to rejoice, wait till January let us see if this rally can be maintained then we will give Kudos.
For now stop this nonsense eye service of yours.

It is easy to be a CBN Governor when times are good ala Messrs Soludo and Sanusi.

When times are good, lol. They were good at what they do. Plus the fact that they had bosses that listened to their advices on economic policies.

No Nigerian CBN Governor in the last 50 years has faced the difficult economic circumstances that Mr Cardoso has faced since he was appointed.

He may not have the bravado of some previous CBN Governors, but he has quietly proven himself as being super competent.

Let us hear word! Economic difficulties that he and Tinubu, his boss created with their newly introduced policies, right?

Nonsense and Cardoso lol

It's a normal thing in Nigeria's FX market.

During December like this, a lot of Nigerians, especially Igbos, Bini people, some Yoruba Christians, others do come back to Nigeria to celebrate Christmas and they come in with lots of dollars, Euros and other foreign currencies but mostly dollars, this leads to excess dollar currency circulation in the Nigerian FX market with low demand as importers are closing for the year and have done most of their import payments and now selling for the season.

Dollar will shoot up again madly during January first and second week mostly when the demand for dollar will rise again due to Nigerians abroad paying school fees, returning back to their bases abroad and paying for imports to beat long Chinese New Year holiday that come towards end of January to February.

Respect the Igbos, they are the people behind the crash unseen by their evil haters like you Tinubu sycophant praisesingers angry

Stop being gullible and stop promoting foolish propaganda. What exactly are you exporting more??!

Tinubu the old fool made naira worthless against other currencies. Exports earn dollars, now quote the so-called export earnings in dollars and see how much it has reduced compared to even Buhari era.

Nairaland has become a community of gullible people.

You were living a fake life and you called it an Economy, I feel so sorry for you. An Economy whereby Okonjo Iweala was borrowing to pay workers salaries and she even told us to brace up for tough times ahead. An economy whereby subsidy gulps $20billion dollars annually while 97% of our revenue was used to service debts. It even got so bad that we started borrowing to pay for subsidy, so that people like you will put on fake smiles. And you want us to continue with that?. enemies of the state.
Be informed that Mr President is focused on building a $1trillion economy by 2030. una go dey alright.

If you doubt me, ask Turkey.

As Turkey's currency has faced very turbulent times in recent years, the country has tried more than 4 central bank Governors in less than 3 years, yet their currency is still in rhe doldrums.

Oga Soludo came in rapidly reduced the exchange rate and made the naira appreciate by 50% to 100 naira to a dollar. He simply used OMO and sourced $1.5b and paid of the demand of dollars and all of a sudden speculators couldn't get buyers and they had to dump their dollars. The wrongest move CBN made was unifying the dollar, without having framework in place, coupled with the wrongest move of abruptly calling for subsidy removal without a plan in place, caused the decimation of the naira, if we really want to tell ourselves the truth.
Now they are trying to rig the supply side of the FX flow, by preventing the banks from running a long position and forcing them to sell their dollars under 24hrs, which is not suppose to be the case if truly CBN is floating the dollar.
We know the tricks being employed by CBN here.

What are you saying? If Finland begins to buy and hoard naira will it make any difference?

You think Nigerians are the only one buying dollars?

Came you compare your lives with that of Botswana? Abi they don’t hoard dollars?

You may end up losing massively. There is no sign that naira will loose ground early. The major driver has always been speculation and not demand and supply. Anything that eliminates speculation will give us true value of naira.
