DeLaRue: When times are good, lol. They were good at what they do. Plus the fact that they had bosses that listened to their advices on economic policies. No Nigerian CBN Governor in the last 50 years has faced the difficult economic circumstances that Mr Cardoso has faced since he was appointed. Let us hear word! Economic difficulties that he and Tinubu, his boss created with their newly introduced policies, right? 1 Like |

PressMyButton:Nonsense and Cardoso lol It's a normal thing in Nigeria's FX market. During December like this, a lot of Nigerians, especially Igbos, Bini people, some Yoruba Christians, others do come back to Nigeria to celebrate Christmas and they come in with lots of dollars, Euros and other foreign currencies but mostly dollars, this leads to excess dollar currency circulation in the Nigerian FX market with low demand as importers are closing for the year and have done most of their import payments and now selling for the season. Dollar will shoot up again madly during January first and second week mostly when the demand for dollar will rise again due to Nigerians abroad paying school fees, returning back to their bases abroad and paying for imports to beat long Chinese New Year holiday that come towards end of January to February. Respect the Igbos, they are the people behind the crash unseen by their evil haters like you Tinubu sycophant praisesingers ![]() 3 Likes |

Paraman: Stop being gullible and stop promoting foolish propaganda. What exactly are you exporting more??! Tinubu the old fool made naira worthless against other currencies. Exports earn dollars, now quote the so-called export earnings in dollars and see how much it has reduced compared to even Buhari era. Nairaland has become a community of gullible people. 2 Likes |

DeLaRue: Oga Soludo came in rapidly reduced the exchange rate and made the naira appreciate by 50% to 100 naira to a dollar. He simply used OMO and sourced $1.5b and paid of the demand of dollars and all of a sudden speculators couldn't get buyers and they had to dump their dollars. The wrongest move CBN made was unifying the dollar, without having framework in place, coupled with the wrongest move of abruptly calling for subsidy removal without a plan in place, caused the decimation of the naira, if we really want to tell ourselves the truth. Now they are trying to rig the supply side of the FX flow, by preventing the banks from running a long position and forcing them to sell their dollars under 24hrs, which is not suppose to be the case if truly CBN is floating the dollar. We know the tricks being employed by CBN here. |

allthingsgood: This is the kind of education that made helinues celebrate the arrest of Dele farotimi What are you saying? If Finland begins to buy and hoard naira will it make any difference? You think Nigerians are the only one buying dollars? Came you compare your lives with that of Botswana? Abi they don’t hoard dollars? Your economy is volatile, we had a slack space where all these things were analyzed. What good was binance ban? Una Dey zuzu no be small |

Yankee101:You may end up losing massively. There is no sign that naira will loose ground early. The major driver has always been speculation and not demand and supply. Anything that eliminates speculation will give us true value of naira. 2 Likes |
