First, the north will rally their numbers to vote against it, and it will fail .
problem is most of those making noise on the proposed Tax bills have not read or even seen the documents. Emotions, Sentiments, Frustrations is the basis of all that we are hearing on sm.

Jonathan is not Tinubu and Tinubu is not Jonathan. Even you yourself acknowledged Tinubu up there for defeating Tinubu. that in 2003, PDP won all the SW states except Lagos. The political strategies are still there. Let me share you a secret; before Jagaban won 2023 election; he had already planned for 2027.
One thing I learnt from his political journey; before you carry out any action, plan ahead for the worst case scenario. That will enable you to block every loopholes.
Definitely, Jonathan is not Tinubu.

I was only trying to tell you that your north -south argument will not fly.

Tinubu may likely win, but not because of any southern loyalty.
It would be dependent on the ticket that the opposition throws up.
The south is not loyal to tinubu, and neither does he deserves it.
His govt does not even look like a southern government.

He already destroyed that agreement when he removed Jonathan for a northerner.

Yorubas betrayed south south region to remove Goodluck Jonathan and now they are shouting southern unity to fight the north. Afonjas in spirit, soul and body.
Betray the south south?
That Jonathan with a chicken heart?
Was he even a decisive intelligent leader?
He was just a pet to northern politicians that's why they could play him like basket ball

It still doesn't change the fact that the nigerian state is somehow scared of letting the igbos go for reasons best known to them. If the igbos are actually parasites or irritants why is nigeria still deciding to keep them at all costs when they have all the means in their disposal to kick them all out of nigeria like the way Malaysia did to Singaporeans years ago? Saying that all the igbos should first relocate to their region before nigeria will decide to allow them to go doesn't make any sense to me.

Listen .
No country will just willingly allow a part of itself divide or secede just like that especially when it's not in the Constitution.
The Almighty US is battling secessionist tendencies in the deep South talking about Texas, California etc. Their Union isn't forced but the US preaches they are stronger together than apart .
Why did the UK go to war against Argentina in the early 80s over Falklands Islands?
To be honest , the SE has little or no economic importance to the Nigerian Union,. You yourselves as Igbo also know this hence the millions of you working and living outside your region spreading like parasites and viruses..
The best thing is for you people to relocate en-masse back to your enclave and develop your micro economy within Alaigbo

Good move. The rest of the country have always bowed to the north for too long. That's the major reason nigeria is not moving forward. Any good move is always interpreted as being against the interests of the northern. Fulani herdsmen are killing people all over the country but we can't stop open grazing because it's against the interest of the north. This nonsense has to end one day.

It never a must that Tinubu should do 8 years. Constitutionally it is the electorates that would determine who and who will occupy the seat of president.
This awkward mentality is what is getting some regions upset.
The presidency rotation between southern states and the northern states is just a mutual understanding and not cast in stone because it is not constitutionally. Just mutual understanding within political interests.
Let me ask you, did heaven falls when Jonathan didn't do second term? Just to let you know that doing two wasn't cast in stone but just a mutual understanding on political ground.

So you want to be led by Northerners, the least developmental Nigerians, for the rest of your life and that of your kids? It is so embarrassing for a southerner to be defending the North to be rulership cheats, because of their population, who can potentially hold on to power forever.

You are like a slave defending his slavers. Wike, after losing to Atiku's scheming during the PDP primaries, said "I cannot be second class in my own Country". What he meant was that he must fight so that born-to-rule elements must be made to respect and defer to other Nigerians. Otherwise the rest of us should accept we are slaves of the backwards and uncompromising North for good.

Wike went to work for Tinubu and the rest is history. This shows thinking men that dynamics are changing. North will have it much tougher to attempt commandeering power always because brave Nigerian leaders are becoming wiser and aware of the danger off letting the region keep producing apex leadership for Nigeria when the way the North develops her human resources makes them patently flawed and unfit to progressively lead multi-ethnic and multi-religious societies.

If the North does not begin to humble herself and make concessions then strong men in the South, as Wike and Tinubu did, will continue to come together to fight the born-to-rule arrogance of men like Atiku which will ultimately lead to the split of Nigeria. No doubt.

What we have in place is a region, the North, saying "we wish to be backwards and uncompromising but in charge of Nigeria always" . "let us destroy alcohol but accept VAT billions raised via it's comsuption in the South".

Fed-up Southern leaders now understand they must stand up to the imperialist North or risk their generations unborn been led by those least qualified to lead and only likely to take us backwards horrendously as Buhari did. Tinubu is succeeding showing up the North as anti-progress bullies only the hateful and vindictive Igbos are ing. Let's see how the North will initiate their desperate power-grab mission and get away with it against PBAT.

Foolish people will be sentimental, and picky about what to implement or not!

As the North kicks against the tax reform Bill, so also the SW kicks against any plans to revamp other seaport projects except those in Lagos!

Until both lregion largely filled with illiterates and un-educated adults see reason that development is complimentary.... let them kee themselves for all I care!

Yoruba no want sea ports in other region because of its effect on Lagos Port Monopoly, but wants the North to accept tax reforms that disadvanytage them!

North doesn't want tax reform because of feeding bottle Monopoly on Federal allocation & will to do as they like....

What a region, what a people! Tufiakwaa!

The fact that they are defending TETFUND is a no for me, even the north their complaints on the bill especially on the area of VAT is valid. Under this tax reform VAT is removed on agricultural produce, as good as it is, it creates a serious problem. The states will not earn tax on food produce, but rather the states where the food produce are processed and used will make more from VAT collected. That is the real issue here.
Also defending to TETFUND and increasing student loans is also not a good idea because that would mean full increment of school fees which would make tertiary education very expensive and keep so many Youth saddled with debts from student loans.

The agricultural sector is suffering. Removing the tax will help leave these business with extra revenue, which they can invest back into the business. In addition, the cost of agricultural products should no longer increase at skyrocketing rates. The policy is a sort of "we have our back against the wall." Those Northern states aren't even doing anything good with all the money they get from agriculture. The industry hasn't developed since I was born. It's better to leave that money in the hands of the farmers who'll do better with it, than give it to mallam, who'll only add two more wives and 30 kids, and place them on "gov. Salary."

The dumb northern gov. should get to work, so that they too can tax finished products.

As for student loans, America runs on similar MO, and it's doing remarkably. Think about it, the strain on parents will reduce immensely, and more Nigerians will have opportunity to get an education. If more people are educated, Nigeria will change for the better. Knowing what Nigerians are capable of, I'm sure, our growth will be astronomical. We should have sured South Africa by now, self.

Please, did Igbo governors not sit on the fence over open grazing while Yorubas decisively championed and enforced it? Simple yes or no because history exists that shows the spineless actions and inactions of Igbo Governors, too petrified of Buhari, during that time.

Amotekun too, or similar, Igbo Governors were too scared to even mention till Yorubas initiated the moved and gave the security outfit legal status through their State houses of assembly. Only after Yorubas had worked to deliver Amotekun that your cowardly opportunists rushed to create Ebubeagu.

Look, there are too many examples that shows what Igbo leaders, and Igbo men by extension, are. It is why Bianca Ojukwu said Igbo land is no longer producing men but "one man down" opportunists.

I bet as, usual, you will argue blindly and aimlessly since Igbo man never respects facts and documented history but instead prefers to make rubbish up, tell "Buhari is dead and cloned" lies or create fake news. Oya na, insult Bianca for her claims below since you lot love denying korokoro truth. No one respect Igbo leaders whereas Yorubas, whatever their fault may be, are generally respected and regarded.

No one is threatening anyone. My point is that Yoruba's always find ways to get what they want as valuable people are able to do. When Buhari held the entire South to ransom with Fulani herdsmen menace who acted, while others looked on helplessly like mumus, to create Amotekun and unilaterally ban open grazing in their region?

Abi any of your governors ed Yoruba governors to make the demand below in 2021?

You people should thank God for putting Yorubas in Nigeria because you all make a lot of empty braggart noise but when evil shows face you all hide bar the Yorubas. I know this and so does the North so no need for long back and forth. We will see how it goes with the bill.

Oga stop being stupid. Is it not the same Yoruba senators that kicked against regional government recently. Everytime Yoruba this, Yoruba that ahhhhhh which kind of inferiority complex is this. Do you need to expend so much energy writing an epistle to show how great you are?

You clearly are tweaked by the house negro reference, you must get over that by yourself.

I am not going to waste my time defending Akintola or Arisekola.

Awolowo was certainly not what you described him as. A group of military people went to beg him to be a central part of their government in trying times for the country.

When the war ended and he realised the military boys were not ready to handover to civilians, he resigned on principle. This is despite being begged to stay on board.

Gowon is still alive, go and ask him how important Awo was in his cabinet.

There is a reason why some policies in Gowon's istration are clearly ascribed to him, when he spoke, the rest of the cabinet listened and implemented them without question.

You mustn't just look at my post, you must look at the poster and post I am responding to in order to see the context.

Awolowo had every chance to keep the north in check, but he didn't take that opportunity, but he was copying to them thinking they will hand over to him and he resigned when it was clear he had been played.

I have encountered cr7lomo a few times.

Based on his rabid bitterness and anger about anything Ndi Yoruba, I can confidently say he is an Ndigbo Obidient that is still unhappy about President Tinubu slapping the taste out of Peter Obi's mouth in the last elections.

Besides, Ndigbo did vote PDP everytime, except last time when they voted LP so what I have said about Ndigbo is right giving the context.

Again i still ask you how do you know he is igbo? Has he told he is one? You keep making assumptions, he could even be from the SS. Please do not make hasty assumptions.

Again I made my comments based on what was posted.

I said "maybe" to the Biafra aspect of my post, I am sure you can see why it is plausible if SE legislators are against the bill en-masse. There was no disparagment of Biafra in my post as it happens.

If you read further, instead of seeing red at the mention of Biafra, I argued against the poster's assertion that South Eastern states were particularly basket cases.

Again i ask you did South east legislators issue a statement condemning this bill? If they did show us their press release. If they did not why are you guys desperate to tag igbos into your fight.

If nigeria is really serious about letting the igbos go it will definitely change it's constitution to allow that to happen Malaysia has done it before so why can't nigeria? Stop the unnecessary hate and envy in ur soul for the igbos they are not constituting any nuisance or forcefully taking any lands from the rightful owners like some ferocious tribes usually does openly in nigeria.
Igbos are well known worldwide for their industrious and progressive nature and will definitely survive and progress when they are on their own. Many countries without any much significant natural resources or access to the sea are doing far better than nigeria in all areas of human development the most important thing is the quality of human resources that is available which the igbos have in abundance. Any sane person reading ur write up can clearly see the deep hate embeded all over it unfortunately it's actually not the reality about the igbos.
