STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU CELEBRATES REVIVAL OF PORT HARCOURT REFINERY AND DIRECTS NNPC LIMITED TO PROMPTLY REACTIVATE WARRI AND KADUNA REFINERIES

President Bola Tinubu extends his heartfelt congratulations to the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on the successful revitalization of the Port Harcourt refinery, marked by the official commencement of petroleum product loading on November 26, 2024.

The President acknowledges the pivotal role of former President Muhammadu Buhari in initiating the comprehensive rehabilitation of all our refineries and expresses gratitude to the African Export-Import Bank for its confidence in financing this critical project.

Furthermore, President Tinubu commends the leadership of NNPC Limited's Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mele Kyari, whose unwavering dedication and commitment were instrumental in overcoming challenges to achieve this milestone.

With the successful revival of the Port Harcourt refinery, President Tinubu urges NNPC Limited to expedite the scheduled reactivation of both the second Port Harcourt refinery and the Warri and Kaduna refineries.

These efforts will significantly enhance domestic production capacity alongside the contributions of privately-owned refineries and make our country a major energy hub, with the gas sector also enjoying unprecedented attention by the istration.

The President underscores his istration's determination to repair the nation’s refineries, aiming to eradicate the disheartening perception of Nigeria as a major crude oil producer that lacks the ability to refine its own resources for domestic consumption.

Highlighting the values of patience, integrity, and ability in the rebuilding of the nation’s infrastructure, President Tinubu calls upon individuals, institutions, and citizens entrusted with responsibilities to maintain focus and uphold trust in their service to the nation.

In alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda focused on shared economic prosperity for all, the President reaffirms his istration's commitment to achieving energy sufficiency, enhancing energy security, and boosting export capacity for Nigeria.

Special Adviser to the President

That shouldn't be the aim of succeeding. In case you don't know, if he succeeds, his critics must have contributed more to that success than you sycophants.

I said that shutting his critics shouldn't be the aim of Tinubu if he wants to succeed as a President. The aim should be positive: Like making Nigeria a better place.

You took a loan of $1.5 billion dollars to reactivate a 60 thousand and 150 thousand capacity (that is if it's the two refineries that were reactivated simultaneously) since 2021,and now November 2024 went into operation,I will not celebrate now because I don't trust anything that is being run by the government, this could just be a face saving strategy because they know the 650 thousand capacity DANGOTE refinery has spoiled the importation and subsidy scam business for the government and NNPCL and put them on their toes, until this refinery is run for 6 Months without story of sabotage ,then I will applause and congratulate the government.for now I dey sit down look.nigerians are quick at celebrating and falling into government scam.
Just read below the 150 thousand capacity is yet to come on stream,it's the 60 thousand capacity that has started refining

The 150,000 barrels per day new Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) complex is set to come on stream by mid-2025.

Everyone that knows, know this MERE PROPAGANDA. A 1965 refinery designed for 60,000 barrel per day will still optimally work at set efficiency. Enjoy your lies when it lasted. grin grin grin grin

To be honest, if I'm an opposition party member or just a neutral sadist, I would be feeling miserable currently when I see that:

1. Nigeria's GDP grew by 3.46%.

2. Unemployment rate decreased to 4.3%.

3. Fuel imports are declining rapidly.

4. Nigeria is now exporting PMS to West Africa and Europe.

5. Crude oil production is climbing towards 2 million bpd.

6. Revenue-debt service ratio reduced from over 90% to 64%.

7. Ambitious tax reforms bills are gaining ground and likely to be ed with minimal amendments.

8. Foreign reserves are climbing to over $40 billion despite the fact that @cenbank expended $5.11 billion between July 2023 - July 2024 to service our external debts and additional $6 billion to clear FX backlogs.

9. External debts are declining marginally contrary to earlier insinuations by @atiku

10. Lagos-Calabar coastal road is progressing rapidly from the Lagos end.

11. Construction from the Calabar end of the Lagos-Calabar coastal road is about to begin.

12. Sokoto-Badagry highway is getting ready to start.

13. Student loan by @NELFUND is gaining wider acceptance

14. Consumer Credit by @CrediCorpNG is reaching many more beneficiaries.

15. Many vehicle owners are eager to convert their vehicles to run on CNG thanks expansion of conversion centers by @PCNGInitiative and expansion of CNG stations by private sector players such as @nipcoplc

16. Local governments are gradually getting their autonomy.

17. John Deere is getting ready to supply first batch of tractors and other agricultural equipment.

18. Reguvenated and restructured social investment programmes are about to resume.

19. Simon Ekpa is in detention and denying his IPOB Prime Ministership like Peter.

20. Bandits are feeling the fire and brimstone from both our airforce and ground forces.

21. Farmers-herders clashes have reduced drastically.

22. New Ministry of livestock is poised to modernise livestock business especially cattle rearing in Nigeria.

23. Port Harcourt refinery finally begins operations after overhaul thanks to President Muhammadu @MBuhari and President Bola Ahmed @officialABAT both of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nigeria will succeed!

And many other good news...

For those in that category currently, may their miserable condition kwontinue n'aha nke nna, na nke okpara, na nke mmuo nso! Ameen 🙏

Do you really have sense at all? What did you make? So it is no longer Dangote's refinery that will bring the price of fuel to 100 per liter?

In as much as it is a step in the right direction and I want him to do well and save suffering Nigerian even though I do t like him, it is still too early to celebrate anything. Government can celebrate and we will follow when we feel the effect.

Warri and Kaduna refineries should follow suit and start operating fully

Dangote monopolistic tendencies should be curbed
