Just the basics we were taught in primary and secondary school. I did have an interest in the language, based on that. Peachesarewhite: 1 Like |

Duolingo is not a serious way to learn French o

Airlar: I can comment on Speak French Fast, they mostly rely on the YouTube videos of other French tutors. Their one-on-one classes with tutors is a joke because they don’t help you practice making coherent points for your tâche 3 (TCF) or tâche 2 (TEF). Their goal is in the title, Speak French Fast whatever you’re speaking whether correct or not, is left to you. Also you don’t get to practice your writing. I would say if you need a serious source of preparation for writing any of the exams, it’s not going to be SFF. But if you’re a beginner, trying to learn how to commit to learn French daily then they will help you with that because they require you to submit daily reports of what you learnt. TL;dr- they are not a good source if you are at A2-B1 level (you will need the services of a tutor) |

olabanji88: Honestly duo lingo will help with writing , reading and listening but theyre not so good with speaking. Been on Duolingo for almost a year now and I can answer tef questions now and I'm close to a B1 in french without putting too much effort on Duolingo. Duolingo has helped my french honesty.

PrettyRX: I understand o but for me personally I can now confidently answer tef questions, written, reading and listening but speaking is where I am lacking and I'm putting in effort by watching french movies but this their new Personal AI bot is why am interested because I can practice speaking. Je peux reellement ecrire en Francais grace à Duo. C'est Tres super. |

Hi. Are you guys complete? YoungDaddyB: |

YoungDaddyB: I subscribed for the version for one person and it was a waste. Duolingo should not be taken as a serious language resource |

Ahialolo:Why do you consider it a waste, not for me if you're persistent and add watching videos in french on YouTube. Duo lingo gives you structure and dedication to commit to learning french 1 Like |

YoungDaddyB: They give you structure that is repetitive and irrelevant to your goal of writing and ing TCF/TEF. Especially with the one year subscription you’re planning to buy. Doing exercises there for free will serve you better than paying for it as a real resource. 1 Like |

Ahialolo: Duolingo can be quite useful, though I'm not sure it's useful enough to warrant subscribing (the free version is enough for me). That repetitive nature can really help things sink in especially in the higher levels (B1+). It won't help much with listening though. I recently ed the delf b2 exam after 2 months of offline French classes. I was still on the A2 section in duolingo (but I had been learning for over a year at that time on the app) when this happened although I included other sources like lawlessfrench and youtube. I think Duolingo helps in building vocabulary. You'll know so many words but it won't be obvious to you till you, perhaps, come across a reading age or when you're speaking and it'll seem like you're pulling words from thin air. Cependant, it will not do anything for your listening skills beyond A1/A2 level I think it's also very good for conversational purposes plus the stories and podcasts are funny. Subscribing has its benefits and if they end up sharing it, each person would be paying like 16k naira. Not bad for 1 year access. Duolingo is not enough on it's own, not at all, but it has its uses especially since they've updated the app and the free version doesn't have many useful features again 1 Like |

Please has anyone recently done a diploma at the Nigerian French Language Village Badagry, I Plan on starting their one year diploma in French by January. I also want to know if 12 month is enough to learn French and write the TEF exam. PS: I'm an absolute beginner.

Good day, everyone. Please, Has anyone taken French classes with FrenchLearningHB, and how did it go? She seems to have a lot of positive reviews online regarding the TCF exams, and I am considering taking her classes.

YoungDaddyB:Duolingo is kind of good if you can stick to it gets boring sometimes and repetitive don’t bother just try and continue you can put the phone down for a while do other things like listing to podcast YouTube videos and news and come back and continue |
