I said I never rated JPes Pre-Afcon and for good reasons. But his Afcon performance with his ultra defensive football approach made us a serious powerhouse again.

I said in as much as I am not convinced on his tactical depth but I won't mind having him if we cannot get a better head.

But then Amuneke was meant to be appointed and we failed. We gave it to Finidi. That is where the mistake really happened. Some things need to take place for a real reality check to occur.

Amuneke was gonna be an Jpes but naah... we missed it.

Maybe we have to come to reality dt we don’t have d personel to play an effective attacking system style…we. Might av to go peseiro way .we overate dis our players

Meanwhile reduce ur hope of getting the Wc ticket…I don’t c us achieving it except I am ….. 😎

Can you beat your chest and say we signed a coach with a history of playing effective offensive football? That is the problem. When selecting a coach is run by corrupt people, in the long run you get poor playing formula.
Oganigwe: 7:09pm On Nov 18, 2024
Thank God Eguaveon is interim, I won't insult the guy cause he stepped up when called upon but bros...abeg just quietly return to your desk job.

It's time for NFF to cut out the bullshit and finally announce a SERIOUS coach, I don't care if the coach is from Pluto or Mars, just get us a fuckingg coach!

And I'm afraid, but our world cup dream is now officially a pipe dream even in the remotest sense. These set of players are just too poor and can't be relied upon to deliver when the expectations are high. It's time to accept Boniface isn't good enough for international football, funny guy and all but he should focus on his club career. Iheanacho officially should be phased out for good. Some players have played themselves out of national team football.

It's time to give the likes of Chuba Akpom, Arokodare, Ojediran, Akinsanmiro, Kingsley Ehibizue etc a chance

Eguaveon just ruined his chance and chances of local coaches. No team play, only individual
brilliance of Chuckwueze got us the goal. Boniface is not just it, Ekong exposed, he needs Bassey to cover for him, Okoye could not take the chance, Onyeka playing like farmer..for me, I miss Zaidu
Thank you Libya for the Greek gift, we may not have defeated them at home..

I just feel for Okoye
Man's about to get roasted again

Can i really blame him? The 1st goal maybe for not organizing them before that freekick. If what osho did there is what he calls a block, he should Tanimu and get out of this squad abeg.

Tactically, we need find a deep playing to relieve Iwobi from such.
We also need to start being confident playing through the middle. This wing play is solo to be the mainstream of our attacking threat.

But don't you think this reality check is too late? The benefit that I can see is this lights a fire under the bumper of our guys before March.

the immense fight and resilience that our guys showed during the semi final match with South Africa at AFCON? Where did that go?

God bless you.

At this point, this regular abysmal performances go beyond the issue of coaching. As far as I know, Egu has performed decently well, ranging from his team selection to the substitutions, and his team management decisions.

These guys lack the will, spirit, and the resilience to fight and grind our remarkable results. I'm not sure Amuneke would have done anything differently with these crop of players.

At the Afcon, Peseiro gave this team a purpose and a system to work with. It was Ultra defensive and saw us utilise a disciplined compact strategy mixed with quick transition counter attacks. We could have been African Champions if we had mixed things up just a little bit by staying on the front foot after we took the lead and not falling back all of a sudden.

In all, I think it is kinda late but also, it is not yet fully over just yet because I don't even know what the future holds in of the decisions the NFF will make next regarding the coaching before March comes around. Could they get it right late? Or just further exacerbate the whole situation.

It's bad that we couldn't "read the room" and appoint someone obviously suited for a role at a time like this. Everything was set up to see Amuneke come in. I cited the Walid Regragui situation with Morocco and what made that appointment a success. We had the same circumstance for the Nigerian coaching job but noooooo... Nigerians don't or can't spot good things.

We have made our bed and we just have to try lie on it unless we are ready to remake the bed properly this time.

, if CAS overturns CAF’s verdict on the botched Libya v Nigeria match, then we would have to get at least a draw vs Libya in the potentially rescheduled game…

It is a collective attitude problem. Pound for pound are Rwanda player better than the Nigerian players?
Nigeria was in the lead, on the counter decision making was an issue when they had chances to make it 2-0. Players wanted to go for glory instead of a simple cross. Then set pieces, no one in defense even bothers to track the ball.

This is from a place of uninformed frustrations which I will let slide. You are obviously reactionary like most Nigerians so I understand.

But I am not like you who gets paid to talk nonsense.

I know my football and have been talking it for years long enough to discern good from bad and I know a sound technical head when I see one. We bleeped up with Finidi when Amuneke was there for the taking.

God bless you. They play teamplay at the back, as they approach the box 18, individualistic mindset takes over. They don't even look to spot a green shirt positioned well. We allowed these Rwanda guys to look brilliant than they should. They ed the ball better, even in tight places, than us. I saw 4 players switch off and the press was so disted. That is lack of team spirit. Our Wingers(Simon and Chuks only) were the shining light tonight. Everyone else should getat

Forget his heroics in Serie A., Maduka Okoye is not even good enough to be in the squad.

I hope now all the talks of Maduka Okoye will die now

I don’t want to be the one defending Maduka here as I also believe Nwabali should be our number 1 but this your comment is more of a “I’m glad he failed lemme prove my point “.

Stop hating on the guy. Why should we forget his heroics? Is it not to our benefit if he replicates it here?

The goals were even more of the defensive errors.

Nerdie, I don't see any way EA would have impacted this team in all sincerity. He's no messiah. He doesn't bring any vote of confidence in me personally, not even his style.

While winning is important and good
AE comfortably qualified with one game to spare
Some days you win some days you lose
Even pep dey 4 games loosing streak
Let's stick to AE if there's no better option
And as for OKOYE... I reserve my comment

Completely agree
The Rwanda team all play in Africa, yet they flogged us
Its time to start getting players from anywhere, as long as they can do the job

We are on 11pts. 9 goals scored and 3 conceded. If CAS should order for replay, we will be on 8 points with 6 goals scored and 3 conceded.
Benin is on 8 points with 7 goals scored and 7 conceded. Even if we eventually loss to Libya by 2 nill, we are still topping the group with 8 points and +1 goal difference.

How you lose matters. We were leading afterall, meaning this game was ours to lose. And then they all slept off and suddenly we are on the backfoot under 7mins!! That's terrible by all standards. We have at least 6 Options to choose from, including Amuneke, even if I personally don't prefer him. Pedro is there too. We can't continue like this.
Yemyke(m): 7:26pm On Nov 18, 2024
As for me AE should continue but with an intelligent assistant. Calling another coach now is not the solution. The players were also non challant. You could see it in them
