If you are submitting your port in person, you do not need to book an appointment. You can walk into the VFS center in Lagos and submit your port directly, especially if you have already completed your biometrics at that location.

If you also wish to pick up your port in person, you will not need DHL services.

Thanks

PPR alert!!!
My BVL dropped 24 hours before my PPR came.
My application timeline was 13 weeks. There was no update on the New portal tracker and the tracker I ed on. Even when my BVL dropped before the PPR. Nothing changed on the tracker.
IRCC will humble you, but trust in Jesus, he's forever faithful and merciful.

I'm a first time applicant and I did my application process myself. I used the New portal. My POF documents alone was almost 100 pages. SOP documents was like 30 pages and I compressed it to 1.8mb. I used almost a month to write my SOP, because I needed to sell myself, not just as a mere student, but as someone who will make valuable contributions to the Canadian economy with my professional skills.

A total of 45k CAD was my budget for this application.
Documents used:
1. GIC (20,650)

2. First semester tuition receipt (11k CAD)

3. Tuition balance in my domiciliary (8k CAD)

4. Flight and ancillary expenses of 5k CAD.

5. 15 months payslips and invoices from previous employer to my current employer and side gigs. Bureau de Change deposit slips.

6. Housing deed of gift which was legalized by the court.

7. Promotion letters (I had like 3 promotions in a year and 5 payrise when I worked for some Nigerian companies). Reference letter as a volunteer for an NGO.

8. My sponsor notorized the sponsorship letter. He also sent the full money I needed to my . He gave me a copy of his residency permit, port data page, investment statement, employment letter and work permit, payslips for a year and his most recent picture.

9. I used my parents as home ties. I hardly take pictures of myself and I had no recent picture with my family, so I used family pictures of when I was a teenager and I added a recent family picture which I wasn't in.
I have a ed business which has never been operational since it was ed almost 2 years ago. I explained the reason my course program would give me the required skill needed in running the business when I return to Nigeria (I didn't submit a tax clearance because the business has never operated. But I submitted the CAC and shareholder documents).

10. Previous study visa rejection letter from another country's embassy. The ission letter of the school that itted me (Still the same study program as in Canada. My study program is on the list of the programs Canada wants and would give PGWP for). The full tuition receipt I paid and the tuition refund receipt.

11. I'm in tech and I have been in the same job role for almost a decade. (I have worked remotely for companies in the top 10 tech countries in the world list). As a remote worker in Nigeria, you need to have multiple receiving s because of different clients and employers would give you their best option to send your money. I had 4 different foreign receiving s. I explained each and every transactions I got in them (I had lump sum transfers) and why I had 4 different receiving s and their pros. Even when I realized that I didn't attach some lump sum receipts to my POF documents 2 months after my application, I sent it with Webform and explained it.

12. My SOP explanation letter alone was almost 10 pages. I was truthful with my application. Where I had an error, I stated it and I showed proof on how the error came about.

13. I did upfront medical at Q-life because it was cheaper than IOM a week before I submitted my application.

This whole Canada thing was orchestrated and led by God, and all the glory, honor, and thanks belongs to him.

I acknowledge the effort of and I thank @Zubizareta and @JMG (Just Move Global), they patiently answered my questions on Whatsapp for free when I started this journey. Special thanks to others who answered my questions on Nairaland.

To others waiting, it's just a matter of time for your own testimony too in Jesus name. At a time I got tired of waiting. My ission process took over 2 months. My visa application process took over 3 months.
Never stop praying and never stop trusting God. Please, be truthful in your application. If you are stuck and need help with your application, you can shoot me a mail and I'll try my best to reply to them.

You can only fund a GIC from your own . I used my Dom to do it. The bank I used was UBA. I was told to apply through the Form A portal first. No one can fund your GIC for you. The sender(bank) and receiver (GIC) name must match. If someone should pay for a GIC for you, CIBC would flag it and refund the money back to the person. If you have a foreign , you can use it to send the money but if you don't have, then you will have to use a Dom .

Most MScs require a degree in a related field. If you want me to help you apply to this program, send me a message.

International Business University
Master's Degree
Master of Business istration - Information Systems Management
tuition fee
CAD 18,500 / Year

Good Morning Everyone,

I have a quick question.

I am seriously considering studying MBA in information systems and Management at International Business University, Canada.

I want to ask if anyone has attended that school here, I need honest opinions.

They are kind of the only university that offers masters in an IT related course that matches my available requirements, as most universities require a BSc in computer science which I don't have, I have BSc in Biochemistry.

It also ticks the box of PGWP and been able to bring in my spouse too.

What is holding me down is I need to get reference letter from my workplace to prove my work experience in IT but I just ed them and in January i will be confirmed hence that is when I can get the letter from them.

I also want to know if there are other IT course (Masters) in other universities that I can consider.

Good morning guys, I just woke up to a refusal letter today from IRCC. This is my first application. I have attached the reason for the refusal below.

I submitted the sponsor’s statement of tuning to over 23m. School fees of 9k were paid already. Investment certificate was also included. There was also land and business documents as well which i included as my proof of home ties.

Please can anyone help me on what the next step will be? Please. My school resumes in January and I’m wondering whether to apply again or just defer my ission.

No panic, You can reapply.

Let me address this in normal normal 9ja understanding ...

Now, lets assume you are a visa officer for a sec, for one I think the funds from your sponsor should be in your , not with the sponsor, except maybe a parent or your age may not allow them entrust the funds to you, hence the sponsor holding it, otherwise that 23m, it should be with you.

also present your sponsor in such a way that that is not looking like 23m his last card. he needs to have sufficient funds to cover you and himself, that's why they read bank statements, so if they remove 23m from his financial activities shown in his statements, personal s oooo, but business statements fit help, how does it look after that? Visa officer dey check am. Also, his statement-of- has to be 6 months I think and it shouldn't be a new . If its first semester only you paid, present the sponsor as having the financial capacity to pay next year and even a third year incase you fail a semester. I am trying to say present you sponsor as financially capable to handle your issues and still be living his or her life!

Finally, 23m in CAD (I am using 1300 naira to 1 CAD ... I don't know the going rate for today or the day you applied) is 17,69k CAD, required cost of living funds is 20k CAD, sum all this up, hence its "insufficient" to the visa officer looking at your profile.

Also, really really confirm the cost of you tuition and calculate it to the last kobo, you need to pay one year and show you have the capability to pay for subsequent years. I have seen one time when we thought the school fees was 10k per year, when in fact it was 10k per semester which translate to 20k a year. Visa officer kept on rejecting, it was the 3rd time someone pointed it out to us! So analyze well.

Wish you Goodluck in this!

Sorry about the refusal.

The first thing is to request for your GCMS notes to know the exact concerns of the VO. In addition to the general concerns about the funds you have, the VO also mentioned lack of ties outside Canada, this could be attributed to the SOP not being written well.

[quote author=TradeSunMoore post=132693564]YES APPROVED. Congratulations. Just wait to receive the request letter to submit your port.. You are good to go.

How long does it typically take for the port request letter to be issued these days? It’s been over two weeks since the study permit tracker showed everything is completed, but I still haven’t received the port request letter.

"Bank statement provided from PA's father is poorly documented and there is no evidence provided showing how PA's sponsor came to accumulate such savings, While I note business certificate registration on file, however, financial information provided is not ed with evidence of income tax paid, pay slips nor business ownership, for the bank statement balances on file. in the absence of satisfactory documentation showing the source of these funds, I am not satisfied the applicant has sufficient funds for the intended international study." For the reasons above, I have refused this application under R216(1)(b) and R220(a) and (b)."

This is what my GCMS Note states as the reason for the refusal of my Canada student application.
Please help me understand how to tackle this situation; I would greatly appreciate any advice you can provide.
Thank you!

Thank you for your response.
1. Yes, I'm unmarried. So I was only able to include my family as proof of home ties.

2. My sponsor happens to be my father

3. I only submitted his CAC documents (although it was ed late last year), his shares with one company he used to work with, i submitted property documents, survey plans also

4. Right now, I do a few freelance writing and design projects for individuals so I couldn’t really use this as a proper work experience since my work isn’t ed yet. But I however submitted previous work experience between 2020-2023 which was much related to my profession. Although I added that I was a manager in my dad’s company as his company was related to my field of study.
