santaclaws: Facts are frustrating when they don’t align with your beliefs and perceptions. I sympathise with your discomfort in having your distortions exposed. Transparency International also don’t know much and are the loudest voices who need your expertise to correct them. Huge debts increase by Buhari and now Tinubu without any governance outcome is also a sign of Sanusi’s credibility, Diezani’s incredibility and Jonathan’s tenure of the worst corruption. May God heal your affliction. Islie: 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Nigeria's economic issue has always been our overdependence on oil. All this talk about who did what is just talk. No leader has been able to solve our resource dependency. Till then 1 Like |

Kukutente23: OBJ was the head of state and he launched Operation Feed the Nation in 1976. You know little or nothing about your own country, you can't be so ignorant and stupid not to know he was the head of state in 1976 when he launched the program. Some of you need to keep quiet sometimes. |

Alaska5050: Lies. Elections under obj were worse than a sham. No institutional strengthening and independence. No infrastructure. He introduced the compromise of the independence of the legislature thru bribes, he disobeyed court orders and made sure opposition govs were unlawfully impeached to advance his own selfish interests. He was the first after abacha to start devaluing our currency. Forget. Obj paralysed Nigeria with corruption. His cronies got multibillion naira contracts but never executed them even after being paid upfront. What about his falsely proclaimed investments in the power sector? Obj might be acting all saintly today but his successor presidents were all angels compared to his dark presidency days. |

adenigga:And whose fault is it if not you Baba? You knew President Yar'Adua wasn't that strong, yet you imposed him on Nigerians and after his demise, what happened? President Jonathan and his cronies squandered everything to the point where it became difficult to even pay Fed. Workers not to talk of States their monthly Salaries. More than 26 States were owing their workers at least 6 months salaries or more and since then the center can no longer hold as successive Govt now struggle from bad to worse. You started the process of putting Nigeria where it is now Sir |

EmperorCaesar: You people keep mentioning GEJ, what about Buhari? What about Tinubu? At least under GEJ, Nigeria was still the fastest growing economy and number one in Africa. Can the same be said today? What about the corruption under Buhari? Or the one going on currently under Tinubu? Or do you people have selective amnesia? It's easy to Dasuki, Stella Oduah and Diezani. But easy to forget ways and means, Dr Betta Edu. Shame on you people. Not until we let go of tribalism, ethnic sentiments and address the Nigerian problems as it is. We will never come out of it 1 Like 1 Share |

idealogical:Oh so you're actually referring to 1979 as one of his sins Well, the problem with folks like you is he listed what he achieved between 1999-2007 and you're here ranting about 1979. That's strange not so. You totally missed what he was saying |

Svoboda:Ok.... let us agree about the election part. So has inec being strengthened since then, the last election we had, the REC had filial relationship with one of the politicians in the elections and we can see the rigmarole that's been going on since then. RECs who are card carrying of political parties still exist till today. I totally disagree about compromise of the legislature. If anything the legislature was far more independent under him than we have today. Today the Senate president goes about with the insignia cap of the president's ers. And prayers are being sent to legislators while budgets are ed with little or no scrutiny. I under OBJ that budget age used to be delayed for months due to disagreements. Disobedience of court orders still exist today and it's even up a notch that judiciary is now an appendage of the politicians in power whose bidding they do with frivolous orders. OBJ never elevated cronyism to a state art like we have today. We all know that our currency is now the worst performing in Africa in the last one year. Our currency was never worse than CFA of our neighbours all through his time. OBJ was far better than the clowns in power now |

EmperorCaesar: Ogbeni, your hypocrisy is high above the clouds and I’m disappointed in you with your sentimental analytical skills. The APC government since they came to power have done far worse than GEJ istration but sentiments won’t let you speak about it. Even OBJ isn’t totally a saint but the two demons twins(Buhari and Tinubu) are wrecking havoc beyond imagination. Egg I once bought at the rate of #10 is now sold for 250-300 1 Like 1 Share |

As I always say, these pathetic people called Nigerians have no single clue what "progress" or "development" means. Afterall their PhD president (if you tell me his PhD didn't contribute to his advancement to the presidency, then I know you're a proper fool) once said Nigeria was doing very well because we could boast of many individuals with private jets. Black man is not ready for the modern world. The state of their minds is still steeped in the traditional mindset and worldview of centuries ago before the West forced modernity on us. You can see the value they still place on "Traditional Rulers" whose only hope of being relevant is for people to continue to cling on to ethnic tribal identity as you can see easily everyday on nairaland. How many times have all these brain dead Indomie generation clowns come on nairaland to declare Obasanjo as the "worst" president. They don't read, they don't know even what's happening today, let alone history, BUT they're always available and insisting on lecturing others and offering opinion. Opinion no dey finish for their mouth. They actively fight to prevent empirical facts from coming up. Nigeria is exactly where Nigeria deserves to be according to the people who populate it. Democracy ko, democracy ni. With all these dumb brutes. Lol |

ALTERNATEID:You bought cheap fuel, cheap food, cost of living was really cheap. There are places the money went to. Subsidy was there for almost all essential commodities. The gigantic amount made by this government through duties, tax etc was not that high. There was no electronic charge for bank transfer, I cant even attempt listing the differences. It is only blind bigot that would rate GEJ with Tinubu and Buhari. The later two are calamities that had befallen Nigeria. |
