I do not expect you to understand, but I will try to explain. You can choose to throw what I have said away, fine. But I will say it.

This is the first set of generational change in Winners. The present crop of young ministers are in their 40s. It makes a lot of sense to still have the old guard (who are between 63 years and 70 years) to still be in the background providing guidance. If there is a misstep anywhere, there is room for correction. Someone like Bishop Abioye has been there from the beginning: since 1981. FORTY-FOUR YEARS. For goodness sake, do you want them still preaching at 90 years like Bishop Frederick KC Price, or at 80 years like Charles Stanley?

Many of the vice presidents of Living Faith, the ones in charge of local missions, foreign missions, WSF, etc, are all at the retirement age or close to it. By making the leadership now a maximum of 14 years in tenure, those who take over the leaders who are currently in their 40s, will be close to 58 (if not already at 58) by the time 14 years is over. Then a new set takes over. That is how you put a system in place to avoid the kind of succession chaos that almost took over Benson Idahosa's church, Synagogue when TB Joshua died, and SBJ Oschoffa's Celestial church when he died in 1985.

Look at the secular world where you have leaders like Paul Biya who is 90 years. No plan for succession. If he goes, who takes over? Who provides guidance to the younger rulers?

Look at Dangote. He is now 67 years. He has realized age is no longer on his side. He has brought in his daughter and she is now part of the team. He is still there providing guidance. When he is out of the scene totally, she would have found her feet totally.

True leaders put in place proper succession structures so there is no chaos when they are gone. Winners has a clearly spelt out process in the constitution of the church, THE MANDATE.

Sadly, many so-called of the church have never even read it.
Excellent 👌, l agree with all you wrote, Success without a successful succession plan in place equals a Failure , this your post is spot on wink

In RCCG and I believe that it's almost the same for Living Faith, retired senior pastors only stop being permanently in charge of parishes. They are assigned other roles like going from location to location to enforce doctrine of the church, resolving issues and other things that the GO might assign to them. They are regularly invited by pastors in charge to anchor programs etc.

In RCCG the age is 70 years. They cannot set up their own churches.

You are sitting on a very long thing. His son, David Oyedepo jr, is currently being groomed to take over. He even preaches in one of the Sunday services at Ota.
I thought his son left the church too, I saw something like him going to start his own ministry, he even got the blessing of his father.

1 term or 2 term a maximum of 7yrs! I don't like this, it's too short for a future General oversea. Maybe a maximum of 10yrs if elected would have been better, well they must have consulted the Holy Spirit. 58yrs seems too Young for retirement as a pastor, would have preferred 65yrs or that 60yrs because it takes years to gain mileage in the things of God and as such at age 50 may be the most potent service of a man of God. Well, the Holy Spirit knows best. God bless our fathers in the Lord.

Speak for RCCG. There are no roles for retired pastors in Winners.

Let me tell you something, I knew about you this more than 10 years ago.
So, I was privy to see the Trustee Documents of LFC and in that document, Oyedepo, Mama and David Jr. were listed as Trustees. Abioye was also listed but David Jr. was higher than the Abioye. Aremu wasn't posted at all.
When I saw it, I smiled and shook my head.

We all know what we are doing. All of us.

Congratulations to Bishop David Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu
Living Faith will never forget your impacts in our lives
Congratulations to Bishop David Oyedepo for leading this generation from people
of little faith to giant faith, it's speaking in our lives.
Congratulations to the entire WINNER's FAMILY!!!

For those that are crying more than the bereaved!
Go and study bible, priesthood is always family lineage, unless the children of the priest refused to follow God.
God always prepare a Samuel for His Eli incase Hophni and Phinehas will misbehave.
However Pst. David and Pst Isaac are the best children anyone will ever which to have in life.

Just look at this idiot.
Best children, better than the things your mother produced?

You have dedicated your life to unending folly.

Varying levels of success I guess but Adjeman's own is the worst given how the case against him went. While I think Olutayo is the most successful, his church and the attached school are quite big and popular.

Gone to where?

Either retired or left to form their own church or dead (in at least 1 case).

One thing I'm very sure of, is that Bishop Oyedepo is a very wise person, he will never do anything that will bring the ministry down. And he will not do anything intentionally against the will of God
You are very correct... He doesn't Just do anything himself.. He hears from God before doing things.. The holy ghost is his personal teacher as is ours too but most of us don't follow his leadings...

Yes he has gone... His father blessed him and freed him.

Most people think winners is just an ordinary everyday church... No is a commission designed from heaven... You can choose to believe or not...

Bishop David Oyedepo is our today Moses... He is a brilliant man.

Ministers ought not to leave office in the manner that the civil service does..
They ought to continue serving until old age, unless there is a health concern..
Why is Bishop Oyedepo not retiring if you know what I mean?

Exactly you are spot on... Success without a successful succession plan in place equals a failure... Most are just blabbing.. It may suffice you to know that even some so-called winners are talking shit..

This is exactly what is playing in man utd.. ALEX was a great coach no doubt won countless honours for Manchester utd but has no succession plan, and no generational philosophy for the club like Barcelona (tiki taka), a style of play.

So when he left the club kept struggling and is still struggling, different coaches coming up with thier own philosophy just to win honours for a big club like Manchester... They were so crazy about winning Cos they are used to it they had to hire a coach who had total opposite philosophy from Ferguson in the person of Mourinho that they even condemned during his time in premiership that he was a parking bus coach Cos of no succession plan.

That is only were Wenger best Ferguson he built a philosophy/style of play for the club and today even though they have not fully gotten to were they are we can see progress in view with Arteta... My prayer is same fate that befell man utd will not affect thier city neighbour given Guardiola exit.

If Abioye is out, who is the empire being handed to? I hope Oyedepo is not thinking of giving it to his wife because it will be the decline of the ministry.
