You don't need to tell him about the strength of America and NATO countries just like you don't need to tell a theist that God is omnipotent. They couldn’t stay in Afghanistan. Troop casualties was mounting, operational cost was off the roof, the government they struggled to put in place was sham, the Afghan army they trained, were Taliban people. The entire mission was hopeless.
America was defeated by less than a rag tag army of Taliban.
