Nasarawa State was plunged into mourning yesterday as news broke of the brutal murder of Chief Leonard Ezike Okechukwu, Catechist of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Agunji Center. The victim, a respected businessman and owner of Nakowa Pharmacy, was allegedly shot dead at his residence in Nassarawa Eggon, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area, on Tuesday night, September 24, 2024.

According to eyewitness s and social media reports, Ezike's life was cut short by unknown gunmen who stormed his home. A Facebook , Christopher, confirmed the tragic incident in a heartfelt post: "Very Painful Exit. May God grant your soul eternal rest Catechist Okey Ezike... CEO Nakowa pharmacy Nassarawa Eggon, who was killed by unknown gunmen yesterday night at his residence Nassarawa Eggon."

The senseless killing has sent shockwaves through the community, with many still reeling from the news. As investigations into the murder commence, authorities are urged to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Sad!! Just imagine how the community was shocked and thrown into mourning as a result of this gentleman's death. What caught my attention the most is him been an Igbo man. If 100 Igbos can dent the image of the Igbos, at least one single useful soul could play a significant role in redefining them. Same as Fulani, Yoruba, Hausa and any other tribe or religion
