Governor Godwin Obaseki has lost his local government to the APC.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has lost his local government, Oredo Local Government Area, to the All Progressives Congress in the governorship election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to the result declared by the commission on Sunday in Benin City, the state capital, the candidate of the APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, polled a total of 30,780 votes in the LG, while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party secured 24,938 votes.

Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party polled 5389 votes.

Ighodalo of the PDP is Obaseki’s anointed candidate in the election.

Anyone privy to events last night knows what happened to this result and that of Ikpoba Okha which necessitated the trip by the governor to INEC head office.

With the political baggage Okpebholo carries, I hope Edos won't relive the effects of poor governance due to conflicts of interest of those who have 'invested' in the APC governorship. Asides that, Okpebholo na cool guy who wants to work for the Edos as he has done in his personal capacity in the past.

Obaseki was a state wide failure for 8 years. Only Dapo Abiodun leads Obaseki in failing.

Ogun state people will vote for ANYTHING but not APC in the coming elections.

Dapo should not even be called a Governor, but a government furniture. It is hard to believe that Dapo is a living thing.
