1. Yes. Embassy will provide interpreter in one of our major national languages , but if Mama's language does not have an interpreter (on that particular day of interview), then, the embassy will ask her to bring her personal interpreter (possibly re-application or 221g scenario).

PS: I am certain of Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba interpreters at the USA embassy.

OPT doesn’t raise any suspicion. Especially if your family says they are only going to visit and return to Nigeria. I’ve heard of F2 being approved during OPT after many previous denials. I’m no expert on this. I’m simply telling you what I’ve seen.

Please anyone else having issues with getting the same date for 2 family ? Because they requested individual applications, it’s almost impossible to get the same date for my parents. I was able to reschedule my dad to June 2025 just now and immediately tried picking same date for my mum so they can go for their interview together. That date was immediately no longer available. Anyone else having the same problem?

I guess no one is answering the question. I've checked my ceac status daily for over two weeks no changes in the status. I will just go back to the OIS to confirm if the documents had been delivered.

I have an interview coming up soon. I intend to fill a new ds-160. Problem is that, there's no feature available to update it on the new portal. My appointment letter carries the old ds-160.

Do I just show up for my interview with both old and new ds-160's?

Or do I raise a ticket regarding that matter?

Please I have a serious challenge. I created my profile and made payment, but before the payment was confirmed I found out I could add my dependents. I proceeded to add them but the total amount was still including mine so I could not pay for them. Now my payment has been confirmed and we have all been issued IW confirmation letters however, their own letter doesn't carry a receipt ID (for obvious reasons) and there is no way to pay for them as it is. Tried to create a new profile for them but it is saying duplicate applicant found. What can I do please?

Hi, I was at the DHL office in trans Amadi last week and they no longer received port. If you don’t have an immediate travel plan you can wait on OIS services to get your port to you. However, if you need your port back Your best bet is to send someone to OIS office in Abuja with a letter of authorization and then have them send your port to you by DHL. Now this will cost you money. Total cost I paid was 48k to OIS and 15k to DHL.

Yes. Each applicant has to fill the DS-160 form. One form per applicant.

I have just switched to the new usvisaappt and I have '3 reschedules available' on my us visa appointment date. While trying to reschedule my appointment, the date picked is showing "slot is already used."

However, I have exceeded the three time appointment change limit from the former portal before switching to the new one.

I’m in the similar boat. After 221g letter, it stated only that she needs a new appointment , no documents were missing. So I purchased a new MRV on the old system, but as dates were in 2026, I held off on booking an appointment as 221G would be valid for only a year. New website vendor told me to create an in the new system.

It’s been 4 weeks, and created two tickets that keep being checked off resolved but no resolution given. DS-160 isn’t being accepted and they keep stating I should wait 2-3 days for the profile to be migrated.

At this point, I think I’ll just have to lose the previous mrv fee and pay for a new one ( third one now) and fill out a new DS 160, because the embassy I think has very unskilled people manning their help desk. I have worked in IT help before, but I don’t think they even read your question.
