I did the bank transfer at about 6:30pm on Monday. I was able to proceed at 4/5pm on Tuesday. When next you , select My Dashboard
and from there click on 'Pending Appointment Request' and it will take you through a series of questions and eventually you can book the appointment.

My cousin's visa got "Approved" and later "issued" dated August 26th. He had earlier gone to pick it up but was told the port is not yet with them (OIS) and he needs to book an appointment. This was later tracked this week on the IOS site and the system gave "Your port is available for pick-up".

The appointment was booked on OIS site but the acknowledged appointment slip indicated the port is at DHL Office - Muri Okunola Sandiland Arcade Building, Plot 230, Muri Okunola Street,Victoria Island. but on getting to DHL at the appointed time, he was told the port is at OIS and on getting to OIS at Victoria Island, he was told oh no! it is with DHL. Now, i am told people are gathered at OIS not having a clue were thier port is?

Is anyone having this same challenge?

1. When his VISA was issued , OIS was not ready for the task of the collection or engrossed with large intakes of VISAS to sort out, therefore, the USA embassy with the need to clear the issued VISAS out in order to avoid backlog, reroute your VISA to DHL.

2. Your port actually departed to DHL facility, but DHL has decided that , okay OIS are still going to do the task of the delivery, hence, DHL has repackaged your VISA inbound to OIS office. OIS is going to have your VISA at the end of the day.

Well, I am able to respond to @DFCO because I have proceeded with the application up to the point where I need to select an appointment date and then I stopped. I have not booked an appointment yet because the available dates are not favorable for me. If and when I get something suitable I will continue.

My confusion is that it seems there are two different appointments that need to be booked. One with the Consulate and one with OIS. And it's unclear to me what each appointment is for. Having re-read your previous post to @primusmaximus, it seems the all-important IW Confirmation Letter is what will clear things up. So I will wait until I get to that stage. Maybe between now and then there will be some more experiences shared or further insights that will clarify things for me. Let's see how it goes. Cheers.

1. the USA embassy only if 60 days have ed after you have submitted the requested document (s). If it is not up to 60 days that you have submitted the required documents, the embassy won't reply your query.

PS: No action is needed on your part while istrative process is on going. Once your submitted documents is verified, your visa will be issued.

1. 221g maximum processing time is 30 - 60 days but it can be indefinite if there is need for the USA embassy to dig further into your case or perhaps " your application might have been displaced.

It is very almost hard to see B1/B2 visa alert here this day.

U may have a good chance of getting d visa if u are on medical trip or study route or u had travelled before to States without overstaying ur intended days of ur vacation. Others whose cases are different na blue papers dem dey serve them.

If you don't believe me, and u can risk visa fee, go and try it and come back to give us report with ur transcripts.

I am in your cousin's shoes- visa issued but no pickup mail.

I booked an appointment on OIS website and I was planning to simply give it a try and attempt to collect my port. This is because at least 2 people reported here recently that they were able to collect their ports at OIS without pickup mails.

One thing I noticed however, is that the OIS website does not inform you where exactly your port is. It tells you your port is ready for pickup and gives you the option to select pickup location. Under pickup location options, I saw multiple cities including Abuja. I selected Lagos because I submitted in Lagos. I put in my details and on the appointment page, I saw DHL Muri Okunola.

I have not attended the appointment so I cannot comment beyond this but this update from you is making me wonder whether I should bother going; now that DHL and OIS both claim they don't have your cousin's port.

He did not recieve any pickup mails. I dont think you should wait for pick-up mails. Once you on OIS that your port is available for pick-up, go for it but dont forget to schedule an appointment on IOS site before you go.

Hopefully, you dont have to wait for long and they see your port quickly. It would be in Lagos at OIS since your submission was to Lagos embassy.

Yes, he paid 31 dollars, the equivalent in Naira. I forgot to mention that sorry. That is becuase he was able to schedule appointment online without paying but if you pay online while scheduling an appointment, i dont see them asking you to repeat the payment again.

I tracked my port on the OIS website and my port isn't with them. I guess it's still at the embassy.

I may have to book an appointment with OIS once I confirm the port is with them. Hopefully, I don't have to pay the 48k fees. But let us see how it goes.

Ok, so First Bank has definitely received the visa fee. My guess is that somewhere in the interface between the payment platform and the application website your information has not synced properly and therefore you are not able to proceed.

Keep trying to reach out to them so they can resolve it for you. All the best.

I don't think that's the issue cos I know people that still get visas even though their immigration status is pending. Just pray they get an early appointment for the GC.

1. While it is still fresh, you can ask them how they answered the interview questions. I think the problem is from how they answered the questions. I guess the VO was not convinced with some response.

2. Confirm if thier response was consistent with the DS160 application filled.

Please I need some advice, I have already booked an appointment sadly I clicked on Oct 2025 and surprisingly was booked. Now I checked and saw I have only 2 attempts to reschedule my appointment to an earlier date, my question now is:-

When do the 2 attempts count, is it when I successfully secure another date then 1 rescheduled attempt is counted


Or

When I click on the reschedule bottom to view the calendar after which I exit the page without picking a date or I do not see a date to pick from will that count as another attempt to reschedule


or

Can I go as often as I want to view the calendar my 2 rescheduled attempts will only count when I successfully click on a date and get rescheduled. Kindly advise please so I do not waste my two attempts just viewing the calendar

Hello, we seem to be having same issue. I paid since Tuesday last week, got the email payment confirmation from first bank. I have waited for a week plus now. I spoke to the customer care twice and they said I should wait till next week Tuesday, it should be updated by then .

They seem very nonchalant about the whole thing. It’s very fustrating.

After booking your initial appointment, you have 3 chances to reschedule.
You can view the appointment calendar as many times as you want, the attempt only counts when you successfully book an appointment.

In my mom's case for instance, I secured her initial appointment for May 2025, I saw she had 3 more reschedule attempts left. I kept checking for an early date but each time I tried to pick a date, an error message pops up. Eventually, I rescheduled her for November 2024, same night I rescheduled again for October 2024. Now she has 1 more reschedule chance left.

I have been waiting for the mail from the new site but still have not gotten any mail.I have created a profile and still have not received any mail and i also cannot explain how the old appointment confirmation mail disappeared from my GMAIL. I have mailed them severally, no response, had a chat with a representative through the chat option, but nothing concrete.

Choose a new drop off date on the OIS website and go on to drop off your documents on the new date.
