Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, says the price of petrol from his refinery will be determined by the federal executive council (FEC).

Dangote spoke on Tuesday after a press conference in Lagos.

The billionaire’s response follows the official announcement of the commencement of petrol production.

On pricing, it is an arrangement which is designed and approved by the federal executive council (FEC) led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

As soon as it is finalised, which he (Tinubu) is pushing, once we finish with NNPC, it can be today, it can be tomorrow, we are ready to roll into the market.”

Also, Dangote said the petrol from the plant, in of quality, can compete with products from other refineries across the world.

Regarding the timeframe for the petrol supply, the billionaire said an announcement would be made after meeting with the NNPC today or Wednesday.

According to Dangote, as soon as this is finalised, “our products will start going to the market”.

“Our gasoline can be in filling stations in the next 48 hours depending on NNPC,” he said.

Following the commencement of petrol production in Dangote refinery, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) said the refinery is expected to supply 25 million litres of petrol daily in September and will subsequently increase this amount to 30 million litres daily from October.

The 650,000 bpd capacity refinery began operations in January with the production of diesel and aviation fuel.

If the quality is as good as they say, this could be a game changer for the local market.

He already knows how much his fuel will be sold.

Baba is only playing mind game with Nigerians.

He doesn't want Nigerians to put the blame on him when they see an unexpectedly high price of fuel.

Who increased the price of cement and other Dangote products?

Is it FEC?

Good to know.

We are gradually getting there

The price of petrol will be determined by the FEC while the price of gas will be determined by the stakeholders.

What a nice approach

Simply put, he had fixed the price to over 800 per litre already, so it now left for federal government to reintroduce subsidy to lower the price for the general public or allow it be sold at that amount, so the ball is now in the federal government court, so anyhow it goes it's still a win win for him, dangote is smart business man.😂😂😂

Another subsidy plot at play. Why should FEC determine the price? These people unite when they want to loot the country.

This guy is a big time monopolist. This is a way to chase the smaller competitors from the market because I'm sure the government wouldn't subsidize them.

Dangote has just sacrified his refinery.

I guess we can expect the refinery to be ruined...like all the others.

APC----the party that thinks that selling at a loss means helping the poor.

(Anyway, what did we expect.? Nigerian politicans will sacrifice the economy to molech for a few extra months in power).

The calamity that will befall these people will not be easy for them to bear. It's not compulsory for them to pilot the affairs of this country if they have no knowledge to run it. But they have decided to put masses in untoward hardship when they are enjoying their lives. Tinubu will surely pay for this problem he is creating for the masses

Scam alert!

We are back to square one again! Dangote wants to help them continue the Subsidy scam and this is bad for the market. He simply wants to be the sole beneficiary of subsidy!

Nigeria...

Such a strange country

APC.. Such a burden and demonic party

How can a refinery start production and the next thing the national oil company is doing is to increase cost of fuel forgeting it will affect every other aspect of life?

All the while we were deceived that Dangote refinery will force a reduction in fuel cost because of freight cost and the use of FCY.

Ask yourself is Dangote Sugar, cement and spaghetti is cheaper?
