You do make very good points. I hadn't looked at it from this angle and now that I do, it makes more sense. One easily assumes that if the colonialists hadn't left, there would have been more development but the facts do indicate the opposite indeed.

Rossikk:

YOU ARE AN UTTER DISGRACE.

Why don't you go and bleach your skin since there are no white people around you, you self-hating cretin?

THE ONLY REASON YOU CAN READ AND WRITE TODAY IS BECAUSE BLACK PEOPLE CAME TO POWER IN 1960.

WE GOT INDEPENDENCE IN 1960, following which thousands of public schools were built across the nation, by THE BLACK GOVERNMENT.

The British built NO PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

There was just a tiny handful of ''missionary schools'' set up by their priests.

AT INDEPENDENCE, after 60 YEARS of British rule, Nigeria's Literacy Rate was 5%.

YOUR GRANDPARENTS WERE VILLAGE ILLITERATE PEASANTS FOR A REASON.

The BRITISH LOOTED YOUR ECONOMY.

Today, Literacy Rate is 75% and climbing, courtesy of BLACK RULE.

Nigeria's FIRST power plant was KAINJI DAM, commissioned by the Balewa istration in 1964.

The BRITISH had used imported industrial generators to power their GRAs like Ikoyi.

THE REST OF Nigeria used CANDLES until independence.

So if the British had stayed longer, you would be 100 TIMES BEHIND WHERE YOU ARE TODAY.

One thing you white-worshipping CRETINS need to understand is that the VERY REASON for colonisation is to loot your economy for the colonising country's benefit.

They didn't loot South Africa because they regarded it as 'their' country and settled there en masse due to the temperate climate. So they actually built infrastructure with the export earnings from at least the 1860s!!

THAT is why South Africa is developed today and other African countries are developing.

People will blame the past Nigerian Leaders for the poor electricity and I will say they are correct.
However, readers of this article would not be oblivious to the fact that ESKOM, was given N23 trillion to execute the project that generated over 2500 MW of electricity.
How much is the Nigeria government investment in electricity?
When Obasanjo was in power, Chief Tony Annineh was the minister of power, he was given $16 billion for the power Ministry, today @N1600 to the Dollar how much would that be?
If they give our leaders that same amount to upgrade our power supply, they will siphon the money and nothing will come out of it... Nigeria has spent billions of dollars in the power sector yet nothing has changed,it's even getting worse so stop that excuse

South Africa has gone 150 consecutive days without any planned power outages, the state power utility Eskom said at the weekend.

This milestone marks a dramatic turnaround from over a year ago when South Africa was plagued by persistent and record load shedding (planned powercuts) that disrupted daily life, inflated food prices and eroded investor confidence.

“The recovery plan has not only made Eskom’s power stations more reliable but has also demonstrated enhanced efficiency,” the state-owned power utility said.

The turnaround began with the appointment of Kgosientsho Ramokgopa as the country’s first-ever electricity minister in March 2023, a role created in response to the escalating energy crisis.

Alongside this, the government injected about R250-billion (N23-trillion) into Eskom to stabilise the utility as well as appointing Dan Marokane as its permanent CEO in December.

The rand has responded well to the development after ending 2023 as one of the few emerging market currencies with losses versus the dollar.

Its fortunes have been boosted by the improvement in electricity supply along with a coalition government that’s considered market friendly after the May election.

The currency has gained 3.7% in the year to date and trades at about R17.70/$.
And yet in Nigeria, we are still battling with a meagre 4500 megawatts for a population of more than 200 million people, what a shame...they claim to have spent billions of dollars for our power sector yet nothing to show for it, I can bet that if same amount is given to our leaders to revamp our power supply they will siphon and share it among themselves and nothing will come out of it

Good leadership is everlasting good asset for any country, but in case of south Africans they should thank almighty God for their stars because their fomal opressors/ colonizers had different philosophy for them unlike Nigeria with divide and rule system designed to loot and pillage our agriculture and natural resouces for the develoments of their home country and other colonies that matter most to them the world over. The colonizers established solid infasructures and good developeds agenda for south African of which they saw as their own country because vavourable wether similar to their weather in europ and offcourse the natural resouces. A cursory look at their sorunding neighbours will show a sharp contrast.
Don't ever blame our colonial masters. That's shifting blame. Nigeria was not the only country in the world that was colonised. Uk was colonised too. They fought with one collective voice.
Do you guys have one voice?
Is Nigeria the only country that have diff tribes?
Nigerians are naturally greedy and oppressive in nature. That moment you go to a wedding, balance to eat everything that come your way, you are just as greedy as that perm sec or politician.
We were indoctrinated to accept freebies even as a kid. What we have is never enough. We grew up with the mindset. That is our problem, nit colonial masters.
I blame religion that preaches give and give so people keep on collecting without knowing the consequences. Religion also killed selfless service cos we believe that for every good we do, we have reward. Do good cos it's good to do good without attachment.

In primary schools where I live, kids were taught the act of giving. They go to school with things they don't use and donate to charity. They grow up with that. What do we teach our kids?

Your politicians are extremely over paid. There is money to do these things but your politicians love luxurious lifestyle a lot. We run a very expensive system of govt.
I totally agree with you 💯

But the heartbreaking and worst part is that these bastards don't want to do anything to improve this country.

How can a person hate the place of their birth, their motherland, their fatherland with so much ion? This is synonymous to witchcraft. Is only someone that doesn't love his or her country that behave like this.

Our leaders will ensure this never happens in Nigeria, just because they want to remain relevant .

Nigeria would not see this one to do challenge against.
It's bolt ordering challenge they would always see and rush towards.

A country with great leaders.

SHUT UP, YOU DUMB IDIOT.

BOTSWANA, IVORY COAST, RWANDA, JAMAICA, TRINIDAD, SENEGAL, KENYA, BARBADOS, BAHAMAS, MOZAMBIQUE, ETC ETC ARE ''ALL-BLACK COUNTRIES'' THAT ARE PROGRESSING VERY WELL IN ALL RAMIFICATIONS.

IF YOU WEREN'T BRAINWASHED TO FEEL INFERIOR, YOU WOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH THEIR SUCCESS STORIES, AND EMULATE THEM.

STUPID NIGERIAN YOUTHS WITH A FILTHY MIND OF RACIAL INFERIORITY.

YOU'RE A DISGRACE IN THE WAY YOU REASON, UPON ALL YOUR CLAIMED EDUCATION.

You could make you point without that much swearing. You listed a whole bunch of countries that are all inferior to Western nation's. Get off your feeling and work with reality.

No bro you just make fool of yourself
You didn't blame buhari but Jonathan that left many years ago... Apc agents will continue blaming anything until Tinubu's 8 years is over
Apel147(m): 8:22am On Aug 28, 2024
Check the prices of things before pdp came into power in 99 ode! Check inflation rates too.. for una small mind Nigeria was a paradise until apc came into power!

I wasn't even bothered with the APC curses, I only added Jonathan and his pdp which you sentimentally jump into there defence for reasons best known to you.

The difference brw u and I is I haven't said APC is perfect, the goal is to have a better country but some of u put the political parties you like, your kinsmen in power above national interest! That's hypocrisy!

The cannibalized military didn't run the country this bad like these politicians you love more than yourselves.

Did we have insecurity before 99? You guys talk as if na different country una dey all these!

Which is worse form of insecurity if your independence day celebration can be obstructed with a bomb blast?

What of police force headquarters? UN building terror attack, this day office attack, abacha barracks attacks, madalla Christmas day mass celebration bomb blast etc...

all in the federal capital city where the President resides! You lot are pathetic!

Deepspirituals:
bigger curses are determined by promises failures , the promises of securities and better economy better than Jonathan and PDP was not fulfilled rather your too gbajue demons in apc brought d biggest curses upon Nigeria , check prices of everything and insecurities in the country compared to Jonathan and pdp.

Buhari and dat gbajue frog eye na top notch
