Like that? You want to tell me they don’t have any that-former-VP, any insert-corrupt-northern-bigwig-here and no billionaire-whose-wealth-centres-on-keeping-citizens-in-darkness there? Hmm, our condition really is a curse from the heavens. Whoever swear us this thing die long ago. There is no turning around from our situation.

We want uninterrupted grid power at cheap tariff, ask an average South African household how much they spend on electricity monthly. When we are ready for cost reflective tariff then we should be expecting improved power supply. Without the right tariff, the power sector won't attract meaningful investment. Shout out to consumers on band A, they are the real odogwu

Hmmm in the year 2000 Americans were celebrateting 100 years without power cut.
This shows that people were born and died without experiencing power outage for a minute.
Meanwhile I was using Car battery to power our television as we watch the news.

The good thing about Nigeria is there is no contract between the government and the governed. We provide our roads, water, electricity so the government doesn’t really have a say how we run our lives.

you guys keep lying to yourselves and decieving yourselves over and over again

This thing that you have typed now is it a proud thing to say?

The greatest mistake nnamdi Azikiwe made was championing the exit of the white expatriates.

South Africa is a great nation today thanks to the good cohesion with blacks and white people. Nigeria need the help of white people to grow.

Nobody is an island.

You guys haven't gained independence even in 2024 but it's worth it

Businesses easily thrives in places like this

Kudos to your Govt

Could we say our founding fathers are worst selfish pushing Nigeria to independent? The truth is, if south African had attained independent in 1960,i can bet they wouldn't have had these development and probably end up like other black African countries that's struggling.
The Ingenization and nationalisation policy in post independent days in Nigeria ensure all companies are handed over to greedy Nigerians that lack the expertise at that time. There were massive industries to the agricultural value chain Industry to the textile industry, to the shoe and leather industry to the cocoa industry to almost everything.

One things is certain, if our Independence had come in 1990s, some certain things would have been in place and more white would have filled our Nigeria street. Probably we would have many mixed race than ever as found in cape Verde.

Corruption has destroyed a lot of things in Nigeria, when you are elected and you wished to effect small changes and then loot the remaining money but when you see the level of damages done by your corrupt successor and fixing them together with the one you intend to do will cause a whole lot of money....then you quickly decided to loot all that come your way without effecting a single change.

People will blame the past Nigerian Leaders for the poor electricity and I will say they are correct.
However, readers of this article would not be oblivious to the fact that ESKOM, was given N23 trillion to execute the project that generated over 2500 MW of electricity.
How much is the Nigeria government investment in electricity?
When Obasanjo was in power, Chief Tony Annineh was the minister of power, he was given $16 billion for the power Ministry, today @N1600 to the Dollar how much would that be?
you are a daft

Just for maintenance alone ooooooo!!!
and add 2500 MW how much is Nigeria willing to invest in electricity?
Make I no talk if consumers can pay for 24hours electricity without bying in Nigeria.

Your politicians are extremely over paid. There is money to do these things but your politicians love luxurious lifestyle a lot. We run a very expensive system of govt.
