Russia is delivering advanced air defence systems and radar equipment to Iran in preparation for a major escalation with Israel.

Don't forget, Israel has got friends (other countries). Recall not quite long ago, Iran embarrased israel by sending drones to israel and a lot of countries helped israel shot most of the down.
USA knew what they were doing by having footprints in several countries. Israel is going to rely on those.

Iran is far from Israel so a lot of their missles & drones would have to travel over other countries. Russia got advantage when fighting thhe WEST (including USA) in that they are so large most of her enemies could be reached very directly. Those they can't reach directly, they would rely on their strategiic friend Belarus which is more like an extension of Russia. BUT unfortunately for Iran, Russia ain't fighting Israel, only shipping them equipment.
