Ahead of the planned nationwide protest in Nigeria over economic hardship, Minister of Works David Umahi has said that the South-East zone of Nigeria would not be part of any protest against President Bola Tinubu.

Umahi also stated that President Tinubu’s istration is making hard decisions to restore the country’s lost glory.

Umahi made this known in Abakaliki on Wednesday during the stakeholders’ engagement meeting on the alignment for the Ebonyi State 101km segment of the 477km Cross River-South East-North Central-Apo Abuja 6-lane superhighway.

He warned those who are fanning the ember of division in the country to desist from it, as it amounts to a waste of time.

He noted that South-East people are not endangered, and should avoid sit-at-home because of its economic sabotage and self-inflicted injury.

The Works Minister also urged Nigerians to the legacy projects of Bola Tinubu, explaining that the coastal highway is coming with huge economic benefits that cut across the country.

The high point of the event was the formal unveiling of the third legacy project, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which cuts across Ebonyi, Enugu, Benue, and Abuja.

Umahi, no matter his position and status, doesn't have the authority to speak for the south east, and he knows this very fact.

We already decided not to protest not because we can't but becauae we already protested during election but some tribalists thought we were joking. Now is their turn to protest or we all will continue to enjoy the Balablu. In a sane clime people like Umahi ought to have resigned from this incompetent Bulaba to save his future carrier.

We are not protesting because sell outs like Umahi said so or because Tinubu is doing a marvelous job. We are not protesting because we told Nigerians from the beginning that the fraud in Aso Rock has nothing to offer and also we are tired of being made a scapegoat which they have started already.
Northern groups are planning to protest and Ronu rascals are here spitting saliva on Igbos instead of facing the people that called for the protest.

The Southeast will not the protest not because Tinubu's government is doing well - far from it! But because the impending protest is already being given a tribal colouration (of course championed by Reno Omokri, doing what he knows best).

Now, the implication of this is that, even while they are not performing, subsequent istrations will tow this path of tribalism to divide the populace the more, which will unfortunately be a win situation for our politicians.

They should stop pretending as if they are the ones persuading South East not to protests, the reality is that people in the South East always weigh their actions and don't jump on the bandwagon.
We are not even looking at Tinubu as the only cause of the wahala in the country, we would the protest if Buhari is added because he was the precursor to the destabilisation of the economy and we have not forgotten like others focusing only on Tinubu because he is not from their tribe or religion
