it's not so true, I have a family member who relocated to last October with her husband, they're currently schooling and just yesterday she told me they spent approximately 13m, you get paid even as a student even if it's to language study, you're sure of about 500 euros for now.
You’re sure of 500 euros monthly? Doing what?

Since you rejected UK, I know my advice won't be for you, but I'll just say it anyways for others coming up here. Why would you want to leave a country where your dollar you earn is higher and you can sustain perfectly instead of moving to a country you spend same dollar. If you earn 3000$ a month, bro house rent and bills will render you a pauper. You're better off in Nigeria, but Nigeria is bleeped so I will recommend another African country. Rwanda is the best bet. Not only is the dollar you're earning really high there, it's way better than Nigeria. To be honest, you may earn more than me in dollars or I may earn more than you, cause I'm a motion designer. But when I travelled to UK with my meagre $$$$ salary a month, I knew I was going to be a very poor human. I came back. I live in a 4 bedroom duplex on the island paying 4.5m a year, that should have been over 15m a year if I was in uk.
The calibre of people leaving Nigeria for more uncertainty is shocking my brother.
Anybody getting advice from strangers on Nairaland about changing their country of abode without consulting with their Creator, would be in serious trouble in the coming years. The world is changing.
Thank God your wife is wise enough, to suggest no going nowhere without her. Cuz you have added broken home to your problems.
I can’t imagine you being in a country with low cost of living compared to other foreign countries, almost zero natural disasters apart from little floods here and there, a country you can boast of N18 million (you are one-fifth on your way to buying a house) which makes you richer than over 70% of the population.
Then you want to spend that money, pack and throw your family into great uncertainty.
@Op you better sit your ass then, till you secure a sponsored job that can enable you move

Consider Georgia or Russia. That money is more than enough to get you both into Georgia and Russia and there are jobs.
What a wicked advise, so someone should waste 18 million on Russia or Georgia? Extremely cold countries with very low wages and high unemployment rates??

18mil in canada is $15k. You won't see house rent anywhere for 1k in canada at the moment maybe a studio in basement. So that's 12k from ur 15k(this is assuming you get PR and not school fees cos that 18 mil cannot cover tuition & living expenses). What I will advice is go with visiting visa stay for 6 months and see if it's worth it

For your information, the population of some countries are not upto to the population of nairaland. In every forum there are both good and bad people there, just like in every country. Just like you can get some trash comments, you can equally get valuable comments that can help someone make good decisions.

So you wanted to leave madam to be shining teeth with Tinubu?
Just joking. If madam get 2:1 in her first degree with high IELTS score, a budget of 20m+ naira can take both of you to UK.
She as MSc by research course, you as dependent
Another option is German opportunity card but you have to wait for about one year to get a slot if you are applying from Nigeria
Do UK still do dependant?

Thank you. Do you have any information about ?
I lived in for years. Surely its not the best place to study in view of their racial discrimination lifestyles. Why not try Netherlands, home from home to foreigners. With your #18million you would live like a king.At the end of your course you can choose to be a permanent citizen. Its allowed. I studied at schipol airport in 1986. Try Netherlands and thank me later.Good luck brother.

Hello Nairaland,
I am seeking advice on relocating to either or Canada at the beginning of next year. I currently work remotely as the sole UI/UX designer for a tech company in Nigeria. I am married and in my late 20s. The idea of relocating has been on my mind for a few months now, and I have seriously been considering leaving the country. I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
A friend suggested that I could move through a study program, but I am not sure if I can focus on academics at the moment. I am keen to hear how others have successfully and legitimately relocated. My wife is insistent that I shouldn’t leave the country without her, so I am planning for both of us to move together.
I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed with relocating to either or Canada. If you prefer to share detailed information privately, my email is in my signature.
Thank you in advance for your help.

This thread is yet another one.
When he couldn't get women, he said all Nigerian men are ugly. Today? He wants you to know he can get women. When he didn't want children, he suggested all men be made eunuchs. It was obvious from his words then that he would renege on his preaching. Guess what? Guess who wants the buggers? When he felt he was the only one on a career path, he preached it as if others who weren't on it were all idiots. After a while? He's discouraged people who visited the section from it. Right now? He's the chosen one if he's finally left his country, but don't you dare try it. Expect the helpful pessimism.
If he criticizes it, know he can't do it thus doesn't want you to. But he wants it. Oh, he wants it.

It's not easy to change your visa, if it gets denied, he will have to come back sooner than expected.
Getting Canada's visitors visa is extremely hard today especially for a young person

Mine is that if you contributed in putting this current government in power, this Japa plan will NEVER work. You will waste that #18m and be disappointed. Otherwise, I wish you all the best.

Thanks for the information. However, due to the criticism I've heard about the UK, I've decided to remove it from my list of options
Bro, if not that the UK have stopped the dependant thing, I would have advised you to go for it and forget the criticism. Same advice I gave one of my guy a decade ago and he was struggling for Canada visa for yrs before he latter took my advice and he was lucky to be the last set of the dependant thing before they stopped it. Now my guy is doing great and always appreciate my advice. Don't fall for scam because you will be emailed by many of them

why the need to study French first?
Because the Canadian Permanent Residency Program is Point Based. Points are awarded based on stipulated factors including Age, Various Levels of Educational Qualifications, Score/Band in IELTS and Score/Band in French Language, Whether you have a relative in Canada, Years Work Experience, Whether you have Canadian Specific Schooling and Work Experience, etc. etc. as Factors considered and then points are offered.
Once you apply, you will select the options that hold true for you and points will be awarded based on these. NOTE. YOU CANNOT LIE OR PRESENT FALSE CLAIMS. FIRSTLY FOR THINGS LIKE LANGUAGES YOU WILL DETAILS OF YOUR CERTIFICATES AND YOUR SCORES. IF YOU LIE YOU RISK A BAN OF 5 TO ALMOST 10 YEARS IN SOME INSTANCES.
Now the thing is that the competition is now so tough that to scale above the rest of applicants like yourself , you will need to add a second language. In the Past, all you needed was IELTS. Then it became tough that the IELTS had to be of a very high score/band to grab the maximum points as possible. Nowadays it is a bit tougher as more people are trying to leave Nigeria and even Africa in general and Asia. Nigerians are not the only ones leaving their country. On the list of Countries that Japa to Canada, Nigeria is not even top 5 from the last statistics revealed.
So the competition is getting tougher so much so that one of the sure ways of HIGHER POINTS and Quicker Nomination is to have and show proficiency in French + English Language by writing both Languages exams.

This is totally not correct. What part of Canada are you? In my province, people have 2-4 jobs and reject shifts at will. You may be out of job if you are in places like Ontario, BC etc. Na you dey find big man area to settle in. Strategize before leaving Nigeria, I will recommend you go for hard to find skilled jobs like healthcare etc and go to a province where they need people. Na you go tire for work
what city is that sis? I am an healthcare worker...I need to move there asap...can I Dm you?
