I had guinea fowl meat for the first time a few months ago. There's this place where they sell it in Shomolu and it tastes better than chicken even though they're very similar.

Have you tasted it before and how do you compare it to chicken?

Chicken is sweeter.

You can't really compare. It's much dryer, not as much oil as chicken and a much earthier taste. Good for just chewing while sipping a glass of wine/cider

Tastes like turkey. It's more fibrous

It tastes better than Agric fowl or frozen chicken but not better than local chicken.

The reason guinea fowl tastes better than Agric fowl/frozen chicken is because the Agric fowl is genetically modified, injected with chemicals or fed with synthetic foods, confined to very little spaces and put on the table within 3 months.

But guinea fowl and local chicken will take almost a year to mature, the meat is rich and tastier because they are mostly reared as free range and eats varieties of organic foods which makes them healthy and sweet to eat

Meanwhile from the album of Sir Osita Osadebe titled 'Ogasi Amaka' he sang that in Igbo culture the Guinea Fowl (Ogasi) is recognised as very beautiful (amaka) but it can never be used as substitute to Chicken when making sacrifices to the gods, even the gods know which one tastes better

Yes, Guinea fowl consumes a lot of Corn but that was before B-BLU came on board as no corn to live healthy as it's now competing heavily with agbodorians for the same diet....AGBADO
