They should include the duration of time the school gave them to offset their outstanding fees in their plaquecards. The school itted them because they provided evidence that they can pay their fees, where is all that money? Sorry, you can't keep owing school fees and expect for your ission not to be terminated eventually. Once your ission is terminated, you have no business left in the country. Japa via the study route is the worst economic decision anybody that's not upper class can make.
cool

Home and abroad na frustration.

Hmmmm,Yoruba would say,"ADIYE BALOKUN,ARA KO RO OKUN,ARA KO RO ADIYE!" Meaning when a bird stand on a rope,it becomes restless as the rope will be dangling left and right.

Already paid 90% and the university was not willing to consider reaching an agreement. It is all about money for them. UK is a miserable place.
So what did you do? Its a really miserable place.

is almost a year now that GBP is exchange over #1000, except you forged ur proof of funds,u should be able to pull through even with the current exchange rate.

You just mentioned the elephant in the room and that is the fact that many forged their POF and with the surge in the number of foreign students many are finding it difficult to even find jobs to exhaust their allocated 20 hours. And then it becomes difficult to raise the remainder of their fees through their earnings as many had hoped.

Whenever I see comments like this- I always smile as I know a hypocrite is talking.

Not only did you not even bother to read the article (which is a sign of intellectual laziness) but you embarrassed yourself by making arguments that a secondary school pupil may see logical holes in.

The article plainly stared that the students were itted believing that they had 7 payments to make to conclude their studies but the school switched it on then and reduced it to 3.

That itself is a breach of contract and in developed countries is a good indicator of a winnable case.

You went on to make more silly statements claiming that ALL of them were owing- yet the article clearly stated that some had concluded payment but made their last payment after the deadline.

Let me stop here.

You and those dull people that liked your post deserve each other

Don't say that, i have a friend who left early January to teeside.

As at the time the process started pounds was like 1200 plus black market and 1100 on oanda.

Today it's 1500 oanda and 1800plus via black market. The person even bought pounds at 2300 around November.

Official rates are fine but where will you buy the pounds at official rates ?

It's really annoying to read some of these comments. If only they knew how these schools suddenly became dracunian in the approach to collecting fees, they may be more considerate but I believe it's envy, envy cos they know they have no means to get there, so there are just angry another did.

The faces I'm seeing and the conditions I've read they go through aren't palatable. It has made me realise I'm really lucky in life so far. I'm very grateful and wouldn't misuse the luck.

Special thanks to my parents.

The 20hrs a week job, is it a under-table job?
advanceDNA:

Not that I them anyway....

technically.... the situation is, when u travel for studies...u show proof u have all the money u need at the embassy which includes ur tuition and upkeep money.....

.......but because the money is in naira and in a nigerian at the time they showed it as proof and still in naira when they need it in UK ...the dangerous change in exchange caused the money in their s to devalue....

Make no mistake...working to pay tuition and up keep doesn't cut it..because the UK authorities only gives student 20hrs a week to work.....that cannot pay tuition let alone bills and other survival expense...

Still...their protest is complete nonsense and uncalled for....a smokescreen actually

I pity them. However, they should not accuse the university of being "heartless ". The university must have given them warning and notices and even agreed on payment with them. Institutions abroad follow due processes in doing things. Sadly, default would still happen. The university will have no other options than to remove them. You can't work to fund your studies abroad but some people won't hear. They will always want to believe one fairly tale of how someone was able to work and pay his fees. Twenty hours pay week is insufficient to muster the kind of money that would pay your tuition fees and living costs.
