Bought some units at same price with part of my Zenith dividend. I think #23.50 is a good price but it might deep lower to #21/22 region over the next few days/weeks.

Another good news of OandO faithfuls

Oil production officially commence at OML 13 with the first ever 6,000 barrels on 6th May, 2024. This figure should rise to 40,000 bpd by 27th May, 2024... grin

OandO has a 40% working interest in OML 13

I see over N300b PAT being announced soon. grin

Haba!
Oando's 40% of the 40,000bpd would be 16,000bpd only!

Lol! Let us hope for a good result for Q1 2024;
Hopefully the loss making years are behind us and Oando will now make profits from 2024 going forward.

At USD/NGN of 1000, he might not be too far away in his estimation.

16k bpd will give 480k barrels every month.
If crude hovers around 70USD pb, that's at least USD34m per month or USD400m per year.

However there are very many deductions which could be as much as 35% of this total (royalties, non-working interest etc) ... sad

Also note that OML 60-63 are already churning out liquid gold wink
(The attached is before the computation of OML 13 output)

CAVEAT: I am not advertising OandO. Every mallam to his kettle...

You forget that production cost per barrel of crude oil in Nigeria remains one of the highest in the world at about 40$ per barrel.

Going by these figures, does it mean Oando is gradually turning around for bright prospects in the nearest future?
The company could possibly shock everyone after the prolonged setback

''Speculation'' is legitimate and part of the game in every stocks market.
Those who align go for it, others ignore! We all cannot have the same perspective of everything in the market.
Oando or any other stocks cannot be different

Production cost in Nigeria is actually $48 per barrel. And sell at $70.
After cost of shipment, what is left for the company is just peanuts. I just wonder how these oil companies make profit. Little wonder the international oil companies are devesting.

Mind you some countries spend as low as $2 production cost per barrel.

Two major factors that increase cost of production
1. Type of field: Desert or deep water well.
2. Security.
Let me shock you, the highest cost of production is actually USD70 for USA smiley

On the bolded, let me give you an excerpt that was not captured by Punch:
"Zacch Adedeji, chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), told lawmakers last week that oil companies operating in Nigeria gave tax authorities $48.71 as their average cost of producing crude oil per barrel in Nigeria. "

That's the reason I said security is a major factor behind the high production cost. International oil companies are leaving the sector because security payouts are gulping their resources...

$70 per barrel cost is for US shale oil. For non-shale oil, Nigeria has the highest production cost, higher than the likes of US and China (non-shale). That's alarming. How do we attract foreign investments in that sector, especially with several countries now discovering oil and gas reserves of their own? Indigenous investors have been jumping on IOCs' exit, but it hasn't translated to increased output in any meaningful way.
