liliberth: I think it would depend on your status in the UK and your place of work. For example if you're a permanent resident, citizen or have ILR, number of years you've stayed in the UK and if your job is a permanent one and/ or you're being sponsored by your organization. Other possible ties like marriage, children, assets in the UK. So you just have to check and see where you have more ties. |

Hello everyone, I have an interview and I have a financial deficit. My sponsor's bank currently has a balance that is slightly higher than the deficit. However, this amount is not his annual earnings, which are actually much higher than the balance. Now my question is, should I mention a figure that is above the amount in his when singing the 'praises'😅 about his annual earnings, or should I stick to his current balance to be on the safe side in case the V.O demands to see the statement?

Please, can someone help me out with this. A friend has been trying to help me pay my SEVIS fee from his location in Luton, United Kingdom to no avail. He has gone to several Western Union agents but they seem not to do or understand the Western Union Quick Pay which to me is an supposed to be an easy process as I have created the coupon over and sent to him. My question, is Western Union Quick Pay available online? Has anyone paid SEVIS fee from the UK, if yes, kindly guide on how you were able to do it. |

welf99: It’s a shame some of you don’t know how to address people online! You’d come here and talk to people like some 2y/olds under your care. I meant even if you meant well it won’t cost nothing to be civil. You can do better next time✌️ 5 Likes |

Going for Fully Funded PHD… Is it a PLUS to mention to the VO that I have a paper in pipeline awaiting publication in conjunction with my Prospective PI?? Or it’s a red flag?? Please I need an informed opinion on this please 🙏🏽 Make person no go do oversabi. |

PrimeTEA: Hey 🤠 1. Human beings have the natural inclination of boasting of their achievements . Even Apostle Paul ( Acts 21; 39) , and our Lord Jesus Christ (Rev 22:16) elaborated on their personalities. 2. If a consular officer asked you " How old are you ? * And you Answered " I was born in Canada in 1976, therefore, i am 48 yrs old ma. 3. In the above scenario. you answered the consular's question but you elaborated by letting her to know that you were born in Canada. ** This is acceptable. 4. If the consular had asked you thus " What town did you finish your high school ? And you answered ** I finished my high school in Oloibiri - Nigeria but i was born in Canada. ** This is unreasonable answer. 5. In summary. You can tell the consular your present or future achievements but it must be related to the question asked . Don't answer what is not related to the consular's question. That will give him or her the impression that you have memorized your answer . Best Wishes 🙏 3 Likes 1 Share |

fearlessfang: Good evening. I need clarification on an issue. I got good funding, but my I-20 says I have a deficit of about $36,000. About $24,000 out of that $36,000 is for rent and food (the I-20 is based on the school's estimation; in reality I don't need that much for rent and food). I have someone in the U.S. (not a relative but my long-time mentor and an associate of my employer) who will let me stay in their apartment for free and give me food, and I will be telling the embassy this. My question: Do I need to show the embassy the bank statement of the person providing me room and board? Or is it enough to show them a recent copy of the utility bill of the house I'll be living in? Note: To get the I-20, all I showed the school was a copy of the utility bill. I would appreciate your response. |
fearlessfang: 11:06pm On Apr 23, 2024 |
Phraser:Like u said no one is going to ask you where you’re going to stay or not. Every I-20 includes living expenses/ health insurance on I-20. A bank statement showing you can cover those deficit is enough. You see those stories you’re cooking up there will get you a denial. Like I said, a bank statement that shows that you can pay the deficit over the period of your stay is enough. Infact that is what you should do. Do not present documents except you’re asked to present documents. Presenting documents when you are not might come off, even to me as a sign of desperation. Focus on convincing the VO that you’re a genuine student who is coming to study and leaving after studies 3 Likes |

PrimeTEA:Go to your interview answering questions that you are asked. Don’t be desperate. You have a fully funded PhD. The visa officer will be in possession of your I-20 and can see that information even in your DS-160. You can chip in the response of your intended research when you’re asked about why you chose the course or why you want a PhD. Look for a better way in those question where it helps your case. Dont sound desperate. Don’t appear desperate 2 Likes |

Immunity04: Hey 🤠 @immunity04. 1. The modus operandi of USA embassies Bank statement verification is totally different to those of UK. Canada, Australia , and New Zealand. 2. If you like you can deposit the required money in the morning of your interview. If you have a billion in the its none of their business. They only needs to the genuineness of the , the originality of the funds as well as the current balance to cover or over cover your 1st year expenses. 3. Your only immunity to F1 visa denial is the genuineness of the bank statement and other facts as quoted above and keeping your mouth shut in the presence of the CO when necessary. Don't sing the praises the consular has not asked you to sing. Best Wishes 1 Like |

fearlessfang: Thanks for the response. It's not a cooked-up story: I have someone—a U.S. citizen d with my company—who will be giving me room and board. And my company is ing me financially. If I understand you correctly, I simply need to present bank statements from my two sources of funding, that is from my company and the U.S. citizen? |
fearlessfang: 6:12am On Apr 24, 2024 |
Phraser:Like I said, the story you’re cooking will land you a denial. Telling them you are staying with a U.S. citizen uncle who is d with your company is some dead story. If I am correct, you’re going for a graduate certificate program? I am yet to see a masters program for 9 months. I might be wrong. You are already playing some stories that will jeopardize the little chance you have. 1 Like |

Immunity04:That praises you want to sing is what will land you an easy denial. A lot of you get straight denial because you can’t just follow an interview question and answer. You want to be loquacious and get distracted. VO: Who is sponsoring you. Answer: My uncle will be sponsoring me, he is the e manager of Dangote company and he has a gas station and 3 hotels lol. You will be denied. Believe me, you will be denied. VO: Who is sponsoring you? Answer: I have a graduate assistantship that covers 90% of my tuition, and my uncle will be covering the deficit. (Doesn’t this sound more sensible) But you want to brag lol. You will be denied. Calm your tip down. Unless they ask you? What does your uncle/dad/mum/aunty do? Before you share what they do. Wait for them to ask you what your uncle/dad/mum earns before you start ranting the billions that they do not you want to lie about 7 Likes |

hello guys, so I got my visa appointment date which is August 26th but it is not favorable for me as school resumes on the 12th of August. my question is that am I to wait until the 60 days interval before I can request for an emergency schedule visa appointment, or can I request now? I am a bit confused with this and I will greatly appreciate any response from y'all. thank you.

Thank you so much @fearlessfang @OyoTunjiUSA Gained new insights reading the thread this morning. Was actually looking to chip it in when a relevant question pops up and just want to be sure if to discard it completely. Thanks once again🙏🏽 |

fearlessfang: It's a 9-month master's program (in a top 20 school in the U.S/world), as stated on the I-20. I wish you would not be snarkily belligerent and just offer solutions. I have reservations about what to do, hence my question on this thread. Meaning I don't need to be reminded about the risks as I am aware of them. I just want suggestions or alternatives. Does presenting bank statements from the two sources work or not is the question. 1 Like |
