A Fully Loaded 40ft articulated truck has fallen on a Nissan Car no. ABJ 692 BG, killing a woman instantly at the NNPC area of Alapere, Lagos.

The Driver of the truck and his conductor bolted away for fear of being lynched by an angry mob.

The deceased who was sitting at the rear of the car died instantly while the driver of the car escaped unhurt.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at a mortuary.

Adebayo Taofiq, Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), confirmed the incident.

Taofiq said the driver of the truck with his motor-boy ran away immediately the fatal accident occurred.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the fully loaded truck was on a high speed when he lost control of the truck and rammed into the moving Nissan car by N.N.P.C inward Alapere, Ogudu along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos.

“LASTMA handed over the body to Police men from Alapere Police Station. Other emergency responders at the scene of the fatal accident include Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Police.

“Also at the accident scene were the LASTMA General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, LASTMA Director of Traffic Incidents, Event Monitoring, Enforcement and Compliance Mr. Hakeem Adeosun and the LASTMA rescue team,” he said.

That is why I don't like Lagos State, it's too crowdy. Some thing like this would have been avoided.

You can't avoid the unforeseen but people that follow containers on road I blame .

I drove past there today. The traffic was hell. Latch your containers always, dem no go hear. There's no monitoring and enforcement at all. The container actually fell on the vehicle, the truck didn't ram into it.

Same way my good friend lost his lovely younger sister last year, their last born. Trailer brake failed, and rammed her from behind. Very painful. Senseless and avoidable deaths. We are not serious in this country.

Arrest Nigeria Port Authority Officers that approved the use of that Truck.
Right from port those wicked civil servants knew that those vehicles were not good enough to carry those containers, but after collecting it they turn their eyes to other side.
Almighty God will judge the civil servants that loaded the container on the unfit Truck.
The family of the woman should sue NPA and the particular officers that loaded the container (or approved) on the truck.

The government / customs who don't check the containers that go on our road to make sure that they are properly strapped to the trailer and the trailer is road worthy?

Or the police wen dey road dey collect bribe from these drivers even when they see the pitiable condition of the trucks??
Or na the owner of the trailers wen dey all after money and not the welfare of the vehicle??

Or na the driver wen dey drink alomo and smoke cigar even for steering??
