A week after the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) increased electricity tariff for Band A customers to N225 per kilowatt hour from N68, electricity distribution companies are finding it hard to sustain the 20-24 hour supply to their customers on the band. https://dailytrust.com/20hrs-supply-discos-post-37-apologies-to-band-a-customers-in-1-week/ 3 Likes |

The problem about Nigeria is that when you try to point out obvious flaws in government policies, those collecting crumbs from the government would tag you as children of hate. Tariff was increased by over 200% without increasing Mega watts generation. The Discos and Gencos didn't agree to run a mock transmission to see if they can sustain at least 20 hours of electricity to customers on band A before approving the increase by the government. They didn't fix the national grid that keeps collapsing like a child learning how to walk... They just announced an increment, and immediately adjusted the prices because it favours them. And as usual their poverty stricken ers who can't even afford 2 meals a day came out in droves to defend their greedy actions by comparing price of electricity in Nigeria to developed countries. Forgetting that our minimum wage over here is peanuts compared to what civil servants in these developed countries earn. The greatest enemies of Nigeria are those who after receiving crumbs, openly and defend terrible government policies that brings nothing but suffering and pains to the masses. 138 Likes 18 Shares |

Smiles..... We need embrace reality. A good percentage of Band A customers don't get up to 20 hours power supply daily. They weren't getting such even before the tariff hike which was the basics for the increment. Since most of our leaders enjoy steady power supply through one way or another, they are not in touch with reality on what is really happening on ground. We no get steady light for Nigeria. Until we solve this "no light" issue, We will not progress as we should a Nation. If I had the powers, I will keep "firing" the leaders in this sector every 6 months until I get a set of leaders that can do a good job. Na band A no fit get light so , Band B and co should just manage their 3 hours daily average light. The 37 apologies no complete, if they all honestly apologize, it will be daily and we will get about (11discos x 9 days) apologies so far. 24 Likes 3 Shares |

Nigerians should be honest, what year do we think steady electricity will be possible in the whole country? I'm no prophet of doom, but Im not seeing it possible not even when we celebrate 100 years of independence. 3 Likes |

On the last paragraph, the very 'corny' strategy they normally adopt over the years is that.. they would deprive the customer of power for a couple of days, then they follow it up with 4days of uninterrupted supply hoping that it would make the customer forget the darkness days.. then follows another interruption for 2 days.. almost like a cycle..🤔🤔 One word: inefficiency!. 11 Likes |

37 apologizes in one week show how unstable power supply is and further indicate that the new tariff is not justifiable.
