Water bodies suck. One reason i have a phobia for it. Death by drownin is nt play

Learning the basic form of swimming could have saved.

I am sure calls were made the moment the boat began to capsize. Just a survival swimming technique to remain afloat in water till help comes could have saved since there was no lifejacket.

If you have children ages 11-16, make sure they learn how to swim. Once you learn the technique, it remains with you till death.

If you are travelling by the river without life jacket, there is a way around that saves life and, it doesn't cost a thing. It's a very effective means of saving your life on a capsized boat whether you can swim or not.

An airtight 10 or 20 litres jerrycan does the magic. It has the capacity to keep one afloat until rescue team come your way. Just hold unto it with your strength so it doesn't slip away.

Common knowledge helps a lot.

More like when the boat was capsizing, a number would be called and then, boom, helicopter and other boats come for rescue. Poor leaders and educated-illetrates finished us.

It seems they didn't allow him to be taken away to the hospital, that's why he died. They might not release the corpse, they are buried by the River side.

Very pained hearing this loss. Please, learn to at least stay afloat for even if na 5mins. It can save lots of lives. In Sweden,Finland, Denmark, and Norway, it is part of their school curriculum.

It is very dangerous embarking on a canoe voyage on a big river without a life jacket. It is like working in an electric factory without putting on your personal protective equipment.

We should think of precautionary and safety measures first that's why the language among whitemen is,"Safety first".It's hurtful losing people in the prime of their lives.
