Great achievements often stem from noble causes, and today, we celebrated a remarkable feat by one of Lagos's very own, Dare Samuel Akinrodoye, known as COACH DREH.

On March 30th, 2024, he swam 11.8km across the Third Mainland Bridge in an impressive time of 2 hours and 33 minutes, not just as a challenge to himself, but with a mission to raise awareness and campaign against suicide and depression.

It was an honour to welcome Coach Dreh and recognize his incredible journey, highlighting the importance of his cause. Lagos salutes your courage and commitment, Coach Dreh. The problem with Sanwo-Olu is that he is too humble, accessible, and available for Nigerians who have been so mentally abused and dehumanized by the military and those in power over the years.

This commendable feature of Sanwo-Olu is a weakness when juxtaposed with the masses around him, hence why he becomes an easy target to be maligned and vilified with every opportunity.

No Governor in any state in any particular crisis situation has embraced the protesters the way Sanwo-Olu did during the End SARS protest, yet he was insulted while in their midst, but still took their complaints personally to Aso Rock to deliver to President Buhari for prompt action.

We all know that he declared a curfew to eventually end the protests and allow economic activities to return to the Alausa and Lekki axes of Lagos, but we all saw how the subsequent Police/Army assault on the stubborn protesters at the Lekki toll gate was put on his head and how the assets of the state were vandalized as a result with many misguided youth vowing then and attempting to get him sacked at his re-election in 2023.

Meanwhile, the politicians who do not care about anyone striking or protesting, or being killed extra-judicially in the states where they rule, have become the darling candidates to be ed.

Sanwo Olu knows that he can't be a governor for life..As for declaring curfew during endsars, that was what a reasonable governor should do...Before declaring the curfew,protesters already burnt orile police station, mushin police station and even killed some police officers...To stop the breakdown of law and order, the best is to declare curfew...Curfew was declared, some people went against the law under the guise of protest to continue their destructions of government properties and killing of policemen and you expect the government not to act by enforcing the curfew, kolewerk naw.
