Anambra: NUC inspects structures of yet-to-be unveiled Godwin Maduka medical varsity

A high-powered delegation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has visited the yet-to-be Unveiled Transatlantic Medicine and Health Science University Umuchukwu, Anambra State.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the University is being spearheaded by a US-based medical doctor and philanthropist, Dr. Godwin Maduka.
The NUC team led by the Executive Secretary, Mr. Chris Maiyaki expressed satisfaction with the quality of the structure put in place expected to house the medical university.
The NUC inspection team was accorded a befitting reception by the jubilant community.

Mr Maiyaki applauded Maduka for his decision to float such a gigantic project, expressing the readiness of the university regulator to offer the needed in ensuring that more opportunities are available for human capital development in the country.

Among the structures housing the proposed university is a 17-storey building, reputed to be the tallest building in the Southeast and South-South Regions.

Also contained in the proposed university are residences for the Principal Officers – VC, Bursar, Registrar, Librarian, lecture theatre, istrative, hostel and other blocks.

Maduka in his remarks said the project has become necessary in view of the ‘japa’ syndrome that has hit the medical industry.

He assured that the university will be fully functional in September 2024 with the issions of students and other academic activities.
The medical institution will house among others, pharmacy, dental, nursing, radiology technology and other allied health and research students.

I love the project but my problem is that it looks isolated. I was expecting to see more than one skyscraper unless they intend building more like it in the nearest future

The location is perfect Anambra is well urbanized, with best connecting roads, the school is not far from Federal poly Oko and Federal College of Education Umunze

I pray this time it works out , this man have flaunted this building over the years morphing into different things over the years , from a town hall to a hospital to now a medical school , the owner is really attaching his identity to that house , he ran for governorship elections with that house as his main campaign prong

This is very good, these big men from the east should also come together and see how they can find lasting peace to the insecurity situation. They should let the youths know there is no gain in destroying ones home or property just to prove a point.

The place was designed as medical institution from day one, he's no longer interested in Anambra politics

I thought this building was meant to be a hospital and it is now a university? Maduka wan get the money wey him spend for election back.
