In this country right now, you should do a very "sure" business. Also, do what govt will not kill. POS business is going soon. Hope you know. Such kind of business, do not go into it. Also, sales along the street or renting of shop for a business in an insecure area is not the way. Businesses you know nothing about, don't do it.

The only evergreen business I know which has been making money for so long, and will continue making money is gardening. But on one condition: learn it. Do not rely on anyone.


Use a stone to kill two birds. Real estate + gardening. Buy two to six plots of land in an urban area where there is development already and free from bandits. Fence the land, put a security house there with a kitchen, toilet, bath ...where you can stay. Put a borehole and solar system there.

The whole set-up is an asset which will increase in value with time. You can not lose. Then, start practising gardening on the land. Guy, if you put something good there, believe me, you can N100m annually depending on your capability. But it will surely take time before you grow to that stage. The good thing is that your land will keep appreciating. If you need an emergency fund, you can sell a plot of your land and cash out.

It is maximum of 3 hours a days job & he would be done working by 8am... Less than a part-time job.

This may sound funny but it's a very good hustle to start with 80k or less.
You can start frying yam and Akara(bean balls). I must be honest with you, in this hardship we are facing currently , everyone needs to eat. People don't really care about clothing this time around but food has become number 1 priority. Na person wey chop bellefull dey to buy new clothes.
You can even start with 30k and your profit at the end of the month would be dancing around 50k of you know how to manage your savings.

Buy pure water in bags and resell.. use front of your house as a shop for now.. That 80k would buy you 200-250bags at N300-400/bag (if you dont have adequate space for safekeeping, you can buy 100 in 2 batches)..

you can make a 20k profit on this within 5-7 days.. that's another 80k in one month.

If you stay consistent, in 3 months you can either rent a shop or build a small container shop..

So, he will sell the 200 bags within 5 days? Did you even consider he will need freezers to do the business if he is to follow your advise? An average size freezers (200lt) is almost 400k now, so how do you expect him to ice 200 bags of pure water?

Majority of the street hawkers buy their drinks and pure water from ice block making vendors and return to pick another ones after selling off. They only need just 2k to start pure water hawking business. Some don't even have money, they pay after selling off. Don't just come online to give advise if you had never done your research very well.

My prayer is that Nigeria should return to Agriculture. Govt should deliberately find a way to create jobs for these people on farms.
