Hello everyone,

Please, what is the recommended method of paying the I-140 filing fee outside the U.S.? I have tried to the U.S. embassy in the country where I live now, as USCIS advised, but they are not responding. Those who filed from Nigeria, how did you make your payment? Can someone do it for you in the U.S. using a personal check or money order?

And please kindly tell me which of the USCIS addresses is used when sending documents from outside the U.S.?

Thanks

You will need someone to help you make the payment within the US. That's what I did. I applied from Nigeria with no lawyer.
I wish you the best of luck as you start the journey to get your LPR.

Thank you for responding to him, so sorry that I couldn’t respond on time @Adnman, I felt someone that completed the process from outside the US will be better suited to give you an accurate answer.

To answer your question about address to send to, I think that is dependent on if you’re using processing, and also the location (State) of your proposed work. I am not sure if there’s a specific address denoted by USCIS for people applying from outside of the US.

Hi beautiful people, I came across EB2 NIW recently on social media. I have read through the tread from pages 1-37, all I can say is kudos to everyone for their contribution.

I have got few questions please,

1, Has any Chartered ant on this tread applied or does anyone know of an ant that has gotten I-140 approval?

2, I have an MBA from UK, Bsc Economics from Nigeria, Fellow of ICAN & Member of Chartered institute of taxation of Nigeria (CITN) with over 10years industry experience in financial and management ing and reporting.

I am just curious to know if this profile can fly for EB2 NIW?

3, I would appreciate if anyone can give an idea of sample or Template for Recommendation letter.
Thank you all.

Hello guys, I am in the third year of my PHD...

Would it be necessary to also add the evaluated copy of my PhD transcript? Cos It seems as though uncompleted programs could be evaluated on the IEE portal

Should i just send only my masters documents to uscis?

Hi
Sorry for the late reply. I think your question have been answered. Just include as many evidence as possible which could be transcript, manuscripts ( published and under review), poster presentations, conferences attended, as many reference letters as possible.
Best wishes.

Please I would like to ask.
Is anyone here with current PD waiting for EB3 visa interview invitation letter from Lagos embassy.
When was the last time they invited one for interview?

Is Lagos embassy following the monthly bulletin at all?
Are they giving people visa at all.

Please I would be expecting a response.
Thanks

ChisomP it's really unfortunate that the last time we heard of EB IL was September last year which will be 6 months by end of this month. It's a pity the embassy has been mute on the EB category for sometime now. Let's hope we hear good news before end of this month. It's been a terrible wait time.

quick question to the house:-
I. Do you have your original I-707 approval notice on hand when heading out for the interview?
II. Do we need it when going for interview (consular processing)?
Aku660: 1:41pm On Feb 28, 2024
I think is not necessary to have the original I-707 with you during the interview. Although I am yet to receive my IL, but information from friends that have gone ahead indicated that it is not needed.

It will do you more good to use someone who lives in the US. I applied from Nigeria without a lawyer, though I got RFE, but I got approved. I have been waiting for IL for over 6 months now since my DQ.

Hello Everyone,
I just learned about this pathway to the US last week and I feel I have missed a lot. I have read through all the 37 pages of this thread and all I can say is to appreciate the person who opened the worthy thread of discussion.

A little about me, I have a HND & Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Master's in Construction Management, and a certified member of PMI. I started my career in banking, then moved to the construction industry for about 5 years, did 6 years of facilities management and presently working as a construction project manager for a telco in Nigeria.

With all these, please what are my chances of getting a GC. I have looked at attorney's fees and it is killing ($14k)so I am planning to self petition. Any and every advice will be more than appreciated.

Lest I forget, I did WES verification of my highest qualification for Canadian immigration, is this document valid for EB2

Yes you do qualify , its quiet expensive if you use a lawyer , I used a lawyer and processing and got approved in 4 days , I am in IT also and I dont have a phd .

However you need realistic exectations from applying to getting a green card can be over 2-3 years with current back log and priority date.

Lawyer fees are now like 6500 usd average which is expensive , processing is over 2800 now also.

check the lawyer I used talk about my case.
https://www.akinalaw.com/blog/78/two-eb-2-niw-approved-with-two-separate-eads-approved

..I think there are cheaper options than lawyers now ..especially if you live in NIgeria and the dollar rate is not smiling 7k usd is over 8m naira.

What are the options please?

The total number of E2 issued at Lagos Consulate in January 2024 was 49 according to the monthly immigrant visa issuance report.

Yeah, 49 in Lagos, then additional 10 in diaspora. That gets you thinking 49 total approved for september through December 2022 DQ. The way the consulate was rescheduling for almost a quarter, you would think they scheduled like 200 appointments for E2 alone. The US consulate service delivery in Lagos is pathetic to say the least But what can one say? grin grin grin

I just hope they send ILs en-mass for EB2 this month, they only issued 134 visas for EB2 while 493 visa was issues for EB3 in last fiscal year.

Regarding attorney fees, if you do a thorough search you should be able to fine one for $5-6K

For EB-2, your WES Canada won't be accepted by USCIS. You'll need an evaluation report from WES (U.S) or from another recognized organization

You are not correct sir/ma, I got RFE because I did not submit certificate evaluation, after fixing other things, plus WES, my I-140 was approved in 7 days.
