All these anti-oshimen peeps should take a chill, if he can't score, others will and that's why it's a team game.

No sane coach will bench his most dangerous forward even if he's not scoring, na for nairaland I dey hear such things grin

I don't even care so much about Osimhen scoring or not. Players like that find their scoring boots at the unlikeliest of times. I am happy about the work he does to create goal opportunities.

For instance, the he gave to Lookman in the Cameroon game, that goal was from his sheer grit, and then the goal Lookman scored against Angola mainly happened because Osimhen dragged along 3 Angolan defenders that were marking him and this opened Lookman.

Distractions like that also play a role in games. It is easier to score when defenders are not marking you.

LOL

The way wey he talk am, you go think say we win tournament. Enyeama save 4 PK for Quarters, only to go chop goal wey eliminate us for Semis.

Even the third SA fit no see.

No point changing a winning team at the semi finals. Only thing I’d say is we need to sub out our players when they get tired. A fully charged Moffi for 20 mins is better than a tired Osimhen for 20 mins.

The time to have experimented was in our friendlies before AFCON or even in the last 30 mins against EQG.

Two 1-0 wins will bring us the title but of course, we’d all want a larger margin of victory.

moffi that came as a replacement for Sadiq Umar o!!.
Bar injuries, moffi would have not been in this team. I don't really get where all the noise about moffi is coming from.

exactly what I have been saying......

With our present set up, no other striker can perfectly replace osimhen, common! it's to glaring to see, but agenda must agend.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion sha

Yes we were. Last AFCON. We played sweet sexy football and smashed all the teams in our group with ease. Without Osimhen.

We would have beaten Tunisia too had Okoye not had his moment of madness.

Check all the games we fumbled recently or struggled to score. Whether against Ghana or our loss to Guinea Bissau in Abuja. Osimhen played.
but you comfortably forgot the last 2 World Cup qualifying games we played where your darling Moffi started one of them. I know what you are

It is a palpable that those clamoring for Osimhen to be benched don't mean well for Nigeria and they know what they're trying to do.

They know they won't be taken seriously if they make it obvious like one of them have done, so they approach in the guise of wanting to improve the team but without genuine intensions.

But thank God that no weapon formed against the Super Eagles shall prosper.

I am not asking for Oshimen to be benched but his energy should be preserved in 70-80mins substitute him for Moffi.

Moffi is not that bad and will start for any of the 3 teams in this semis. A striker of his calibre is can replace a tired Oshimen for 20mins and play well.

Why keep bringing in Aribo that offer nothing to the midfield even Onyedika is way better

We are struggling to score. Lowest scoring side in the tourney at this stage.

Maybe the level of the competition has improved. We are still not bad. Out of the last four teams, SE has 6 goals. Congo 6, South Africa 6 ( scored in 2 of their 5 matches), Ivory coast has 5 goals so far. These teams are all in semi finals.
Even at 2019 AFCON, we only scored 7 goals at semi final stage, and conceded 5.

If not for our defence's solid performances, people would have been forced to ask Victor Osimhen some very frank questions.

Some people make it look as if the SE was struggling to score goals before Osimhen came on the scene and improved our goalscoring prowess.

In reality, the reverse has been the case. Ighalo played with this same team in AFCON 2019 and won the Golden ball. Osimhen took charge and gave us only one goal in five matches plus plenty of offsides and big chances squandered. Same team o.

The only thing saving him is that our defence is pulling us to the finish line. Any day the defence stops working, Nigerians will analyze Osimhen without emotions.
Osimhen is a vital part of our team's defensive character. Our defensive exploits are not just down to the defenders, the team's structure and character as a unit plays the most part.

I laugh when some people say that, without Osimhen, we wouldn’t have gotten to this stage of the competition. Are you guys playing? šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

Put some respect on the names of your fvcking defenders!! Someone is even calling us ungrateful because of Osimhen. Ā šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

Our shots-on-target stats have been dismal in this competition so far. Even if he isn’t scoring, at least he should be hitting the targets ffs!!!

Some of y'all get high blood pressure whenever Osimhen is criticized but put the likes of furo iyenemi and uzoho for that defense and see if una body nor go don tell una..
Can you point out anyone that said the defenders are bad... We're talking about the attack last time I checked.

I bet you even lookman wouldn't cherish the idea of victor sitting on the bench because he knows what the benefits of his off-ball movements and workrate.

You guys are not getting it. Una just day watch match with emorions and zero observation.

1. some fans are having this pride of should osimhen not be scoring?, our African best, a whole african best. i think i can still reason with those fans(but then calm down its football and the guy is 100% active in al our games)
2. some fans here are just nothing but having beef for the guy, not really that they are not happy he is not scoring…they are very happy is not scoring..so that they can rub it on peoples faces that ā€œi told you that guy na otu strikerā€
Lastly if you never believed the team will get this far just dont come and give us any ekuke analysis ir suggestions… just wait if we win the Afcon, divert your bad energy and attention to world cup and keep wishing the team bad…then if we sadly or unluckily lose to SA you can come out and laugh at us and say ā€œi told you guys your eagles are fraud and carpenters ā€œā€¦for now the Association of super eagles fans dont need your dry opinion

At this stage of the Afcon all the teams have been training together for close to a month; that means the football is now almost like club football.
The team with the best players will win at this stage 8 out of 10 times barring unfortunate events like red cards and injuries to key players. That is why all the "underdogs" doing initial gra gra have been eliminated.

Do a South Africa/ Nigeria combined Eleven... Only the south African goal keeper will probably get in the team; we have the better players hands down, training together for almost a month! South Africa will need a miracle to drag us into penalty shoot outs which is a lottery.... That's the only way they stand a chance of winning.

It's like people are afraid to say the obvious.

VO greatest strengths are his relentless, never stop work rate, the raw determination and blind rage he uses to play . He is like a man on a mission that overcomes his handicap by his unparalleled mental attitude and single minded aggressive force to succeed. In this regard he is the best.

However, against equally fast, physically stronger šŸ’ŖšŸæ more robust and highly determined black African muscle head defenders he is struggling.

World class players use techniques, skill, deceptive play to overcome obstacles. These are not the attributes of VO.

VO relies on his aforementioned unique attributes, it's not going to be very successful in the AFCON that's now proven.

It's time for Moffi to come and maybe Victor can come in as a substitute to replace him or even complement him as second striker. Right now AFCON defenders have read him , he does the same thing he is not unpredictable.

He is still absolutely essential but we need to try Moffi and see what he can do. It's avwin win if Moffi does nothing for 45 minutes.

Then unleash a refreshed and full of running with greater determination VO, for 45 minutes of non stop aggression I think he will score at least two in such circumstances.

Particularly as players always tire in the last 40 minutes of a match .
Before you write epistle Osimhen is like Rashidi in of footballing abilities abi Rashidi has technique? Can't even Rashidi dribbling that much. Osimhen has just been profligate. It has nothing to do "black African muscle".

And please quit this narrative about "black African muscle" which feeds into a certain stereotype of African football being all brawns and little brains. This Afcon has shown that African teams play technical and tactical football.

The Cameroon you hyped up as the archetypical jam-body team did not even play that way at all. We even bested them physically and booted them out. So catch up with the reality and forget this your washed out trope about African football.

na so we dey argue as we carry eyes up Iwobi don throw long that connect Moses Simon and boom weve scored…na so baba shut up!.

Like can we just chill and understand that we are not the best team in the world? and that we have a formula thats pulling us to a direction of success?

90% luck?, LMAO.

Four penalty saves out of five is also 90% luck??.. he also went the right direction for the one he didn't save..

If penalties are 90% luck, then why do players train and device strategy to come out as winners?
If the south African goalie was so good that he's sure of saving four penalties in one match why is he playing in South Africa?

The very first time I played betting I won the "ticket".

In fact there was a day I played four "tickets" same day which I won three of them. But for the past four months I haven't won one bet slip!

And this is despite the fact that I even intensified my forecast and increased the amount of bet slips I play at a go.

This is equivalent to penalty shootouts.

It's 90% luck I didn't say 100%.

The year won the world cup, Giroud was the starting striker yet he didn't have a single shot on target. No be so?
Some people need to differentiate between tournament and league. In a tournament, all that matters is to progress till you get the cup. Nothing matters more than to win the match.

There are some players you just can't bench anyhow and Osimhen is one. My issue is the coach not subbing him off whenever he is tired. He already run down the opponent's defence for like 70 minutes. Bring in Moffi who is equally fast.
