That guy is just by smart by a half. That's not the only thing in that pension law of Lagos state for former Governors, that one is just the least stuff they are entitled at the end of the month,, the allowances are outrageous.
Then quote the full law. Always be factual, when you disagree with something, do well to back your argument up with evidence.

So that's why he should be in jail?
Ok o

The Masses Are Starving, Yet None of These Past Governors Can Donate All These Pensions To Solve Just One Societal Problem for Nigerians Even If It is INSECURITY!

It's a shame when some section of the media deliberately spreading misinformation aimed at tarnishing the image of their perceived enemies especially to the gullible ones. You'd think Tinubu and his successors have pocketed Lagos's treasury with 577,000 monthly pension.

-kiss the truth!

So we should take his word for it when we heard differently from other sources?

I think their package was reviewed down by sanwolu after ambode left.

"He did it as governor"

Was there any time Lagos State has 24/7 Electricity for one month, no scrap that. For one week? Uninterrupted?

Be shouting kiss the truth like goat there.

In all honesty, should you even collect the pension in the first place?

Why do you think Mr Fashola shouldn't collect pension in the first place?

Basic or expanded allowance?
government does not pay basic salary as take home. The total amount paid as salary is the sum of allowances accruable on the staff and these allowances are dependent on the basic. ie: every allowance added to the basic is a percentage of the basic.

Was he supposed to even get pension at all.
Civil servants that spend 35yrs and more are getting even less than 50k but someone that spent just 8yrs as governor is getting ×12 of that.
It was even Ambode to cut their pension by 50% meaning he was earning over 1m before

God will surely punish u
Its not a curse but a fact that will come to

You know my respect for Raji Fashola dissipated in 2015. This was my all time favourite Public .

He did two things that shocked me into
realising that there are no saints in Politics.

I watched him closely on TV as the Ministerial portfolios were being read out. He looked calm and apparently reflective. I felt that he would immediately after that jamboree meet with the President and decline at least one portfolio. He didn't and I knew that he was now an istrative disaster just waiting to happen.

Truly, the contracts governing the sale of the power distribution companies were not progressive or result oriented at least to the Nigerian people as represented by the government and worse still they could not be terminated. He said so in different fora and who could know better than Raji Fashola S.A.N? At that point the honourable thing to do is to resign from the position stating your reasons clearly.

Perhaps some of us would have forgiven his loose lip proclamation about the provision of public power not being rocket science.

Lies upon lies.

Lagos state government carters for the medical bills of all Thier past governors anual car renewals, furniture and domestic allowances. First class State recoginations etc.

Nigerian politicians and lies are twins.

Even in the day time, they'll like to lie. Fashola thought he is talking to those kids in class one primary section.

That's a big lie.

Not with the present tax laws.

A friend work for an estalishment for 8years he has close 2 million to collect.

There's some element of truth in it.
Most Lagos pensioners hardly collect over 50k a month in pension.

Only few are above 50k.

The ones that easily collect a lot of money are very old retirees from places like NDIC, NNPC, CBN, NCC, FIRS...etc

Fixed power issues in Lagos or you're looking for an excuse to defend him?

Privatisation is now your excuse grin?

No doubt, he was a good governor but don't praise him for what he didn't do.

How you guys woke up to defend mediocrity still baffles me.
Bro, he said what he said during campaign, years after all components of privatization has taken place. It's obvious he knows nothing about power you have to kiss the truth and it that.
During Buhari's second tenure, he left the power ministry because his words are hitting him back, by then, Nigerians have started calling him minister of darkness!
Stop being a hypocrite and remove the truth in your signature!

Any one who doesn't know this the person isn't in the know regarding issues of pensions for former governors in Nigeria. This issue has been over flogged in the past decade.

Of course if Nigeria was working he would be in jail for saying that but a Pandora Criminal in person of Peter Obi won't be in jail after he was caught red handed looting ₦250 million monthly from Anambra coffers to his warehouse at Orile in Lagos.

Just in case you want to investigate further google or Marvel Akpoyibo caught Peter Obi red handed with the loot before the inspector general of police Mike Okiro who is an Igbo saved him from the embarrassment.

Marvel Akpoyibo was then the Lagos commissioner of police he caught Peter Obi using his governor's convey to loot such amount monthly

The other time senators contributed their monthly basic of about 1 million to victim of the air strike in kadunna but made it seem like they contributed their total months salary if about 30 million naira.

These politicians think they are talking to dumb people.

Fashola was half honest. The 577k is just the pension but he failed to tell people the accompanying Benefits in kind which includes a considerable number of domestic staff for both him and his family paid for by Lagos state govt, the 2 cars that must be replaced every 3 or 4 years, the choice houses built in Abuja and Lagos that must be maintained by Lagos taxpayers money every year, the guaranteed foreign medical services available to him and of his family, etc..all enshrined in that Lagos state pension act for governors and deputies...in tax laws and practice, these are monetized...and when you do, it is already running into billions of naira. Dont be gullible, there is a reason Lagos state government refused to enact the state version of the Freedom of information Bill...there is a lot they are hiding from you.

The painful part of it was the interviewers who were so inept about the questions they were asking him. It's either they were caught in the awe of Mr Fashola so much so that they forgot their jobs and displayed brazen ineptitude or some brown envelopes were already exchanged behind the studios before the interview to soften their questioning. A shame of a country. People beget the kind of leaders they deserve. Weak people..poor leadership..poor quality of life..

This is the most foolish comment on this thread, how is cash earned monthly equal to cars n houses and who does the monetization ? Your father ? What governor do not enjoy those benefit in Nigeria ?!

Is he paid cars n houses monthly ?! Bigotry as ruined the lives of many of you to an extent one shouldn't even bother discussing stuffs like this with your bigoted heads.
