Total nonsense!

He graduated from a top secondary school, did foundation courses in Unilag and aced all his courses brilliantly! I ask again, was the father a lecturer to other 5.0 CGPA grads from the same university? Recently, Deborah from Landmark University graduated with the same 5.0 CGPA in Mechanical Engineering. Did David's father teach her too?

Most of you people talk stoopidly and foolishly. This guy performed excellently across all levels and currently works in an elite firm. Does his father work at Boston Consulting Group?
Bullshitt.

Plenty people had stellar academic background, that does not mean they have to graduate with a FIRST class.

That conflict of interest is too much.

Go and tell that to Boston Consulting Group.

Bloody retard!
You are an idiot.

How does Boston consulting group, probably another fruit of strong connection, have to do with the fact that his CGPA is heavily tainted with a strong conflict of interest.

I no blame you.

He is lucky that the university is not in America, western Europe or Canada.

Unilag would have been drowning in lawsuits and scandals.

Go and see what the former Harvard university president is going through just because of an offense that's not even as glaring as this.

Was the father also influential in him acing his other courses? Did the father also teach Ayodele Dada who was the first 5.0 grad from the same Unilag? Was the father a lecturer to the Law grad from LASU with the same grade? What about the girl from Cell Biology who had a similar grade?

Children whose parents are/were professors or even teachers tend to pick up traits (nature vs nuture) while growing up. As a result, they perform excellently in school. David is just the norm, not the exception. In fact, most top grads from elite universities in the US had/have academics as parents.
His father is a professor in the same department.
A whole professor.

What do you think that means?

You think any of his lecturers would not be generous with his grades to not offend his Father?

What of the undue advantage he got due to his unnatural proximity to examination questions and AOCs.?

You think all his classmates were that fortunate?

Plenty of professors' children fail woefully in school.

It's not a given.

I am not saying he is not brilliant. There are plenty of brilliant people in engineering.
A Second class upper student is brilliant.

But this guy's CGPA is unnaturally boosted by undue privileges, and unless we want to hide our face in the sand, that is when we would deny it.

wahala!!!
Una too get wahala for this country abeg.
What has politics got to do with education?
at auchi polytechnic my roomie's dad was a prof in civil engineering dept.

The only advantage my roomie had is, from primary school he already knew he would study civil engineering too due to his dad's influence so he strictly followed that part that as a secondary school student he had already read almost all the materials he needed from ND1 Till HND.
As a secondary school student his dad was already homeschooling him, giving him materials, in fact all the materials are surplus at home, from text books to drawing materials, measurement materials etc.

His dad even bought a desktop computer for him and his elder bro's to learn chart drawing and all those civil engineering drawings.
As a sec schooo student he could map and draw better than most HND students graduates.

Dude got itted to auchi polytechnic and came out with distinction without breaking a sweat, dude normally tells me every class is just like a revision to him.

Meanwhile, his elder bro was in the same dept few years earlier and dropped out due to low grades.

Your thinking is too shallow, just too shallow and the worse is you are so cock sure of the nonsense you are saying.

You take the matter personal like he thief your woman.
Abeg free the young man, na book he sabi, he no kill person.
I just gave you an example.

Conflict of interest can happen in any sector.

I no blame you Sha.

Nigeria is one of the most highly corrupt countries in the world.
Fantastically corrupt like Cameron said.

Is this not the same country where a sitting governor would be sharing state projects to his own company and setting the price too?

Ofcourse you won't see anything wrong with a professor father teaching in the same university department where his son is a student, setting exams for him and scoring it too.

Una go think say una get sense, but na lie.

A 5.0 CGPA graduate of Civil Engineering, and guess who the father is?

The boy is very brilliant no doubt, but the influence of his Prof. dad in the institution towards his 5.0 CGPA can't be underestimated.

Damn ..you are a special kind of dumb, ain't you?

It's obvious you are jealous
Jealous?

I graduated with a 4.44.

I was on a 4.7 for most of my academic life in the university, and later slipped due to a personal life trauma in my final year.

If I had a father as a professor in my department, he would have covered my lapses in the final year, and I would have graduated with a strong first class, and you would be hailing me today as "scholar".

Your story is exactly why I said you are jealous. You had almost first class and you blamed everyone who did and thought to yourself that 'had it been you had a little push' you would have made it. That guy did other courses from other departments and got all As. It has nothing to do with his dad as a professor or shiit like that. No professor can protect you to the extent of influencing everyone who ever taught you.

Get over yourself boy, if you had all A's from 100 level you would have made first class. Daddy dearest or not, you didn't do enough that's why you didn't have a first class. So chill!!!

It does not take a first class degree to know that a good and feasible start-up requires funds! Even before investors will start considering your solutions, you must have invested a large chunk of funds.

It's like a farmer seeking investors but has no land. Nigeria of today gives you little to no chance of accessing loans as a fresh graduate, so where does he starts from? A son of a lecturer and not politician.

He can use his certificate as collateral. That would work. I would easy fund and enterprise of such q genius. Except he is not sure of himself

What do u mean by you people?

I attended the secondary school.

What do u find unbelievable in my claims?

Yorobbbbers are quite adept at making bogus claims. I did a quick google check about your SAT2 claims and found nothing.

That's how for years you have claimed to be the most educated. A claim that has been discovered to be false.

Because you control the traditional media, you pushed false narratives down our throats. But we thank God for social media and the internet at large.

I was in same school with him. He was my senior.

Others have already agreed that bosun now works for Google after he finished frm MIT.

So are you not aware there are other profs, in same university, same or different departments that have beef with his popsy.
Who are ready to take a punch on the said daddy using his son as punch bag?

Academic environment is not different from polical arena, everything Na level.

easytig:
His dad na prof for engineering dept, definitely he was aided to his first class by his dad's fellow lecturers.they will want to be careful when marking his script .
If his dad was not a professor he won't smell 5.0 gpa.

A + B = C.
That's engineering.

Even if you are the dullest in the world, once I have told you that the exam is going to contain A + B = C, then you should be able to and well.

Having your professor as a father is the kind of advantage that can give you a 5.0 in Engineering.

In the arts, it's not like that.
You would need to be gifted, unless you are going to carry a written and prepared answer into the hall.

Oh. Makes sense.

It isn't. It's the same in the same everywhere else. The Kardashians have no talent yet they're worth billions.

It's all about the value you create to the largest number of people.

BBN contestants entertain millions. How many people does he help with his first class?

If, in the future, he's able to use his intellect and grow wealth to billions of dollars like the dude that was acquired by Blackrock, then we would celebrate him.

"South South" isn't the name of an ethnic group. In the south South there are Urhobos, Itsekiris, Igbos, Binis, Ijaws, Isokos etc.

Even after I told u am not Yoruba, that am South South, u still went ahead to say there is nothing like that, mentioning tribes as if the issue was a tribal thing.

So because a Yoruba person was very brilliant in school I cannot sing his praise because am of another tribe?

Anyway his achievements are laudable sha, he look the book smart type, but problem is the richest men in this world are men who didn't finish from the four walls of a University. Yet Education matters, but most times, it's not always the key to financial freedom. Let's do an analysis. How much is the Richest Processor in the world worth? And how much much is his wealth compared the the likes of Bill Gates and Elon Musk?
